“I can't believe I have missed this place. Every-time I go to Forrest avenue I walk past by it and never thought of going in until day before yesterday.

First time trying Peruvian food & it was so good . I was gonna have a test done & I can only eat soup. So that's what I was trying to find in that area when I get curious and go in. I am so glad I did.

I tried their shrimp soup . It was a big bowl, for that price I appreciate that bowl of hot soup. Yummy ! And great thing is they don't serve pork , so I don't have to be extra careful while eating here. Lots of seafood & fish items to try from. I also loved my freshly made mango and pineapple smoothie. Yum

I had the chance to talk with the owner & she was wonderful. I felt like I was talking to my bestie. I will be definitely coming back .

“The food is absolutely phenomenal and authentic Peruvian cuisine. The wait is a bit longer than one would hope but it’s because the food is fresh and the portions very filling! I swing by as often as I can when I’m on Staten Island. I love it!“

“Really great food and all of the staff are incredibly friendly. My only complaint is that they just removed corn kernels from the menu - not sure why since they’re delicious. My salad wasn’t the same today… 😞“

“The staff was friendly and helpful. The service was quick, too. I had a Carne Asada sandwich and the braised beef was delicious and it was a good portion. The sauces and slaw were a good addition- a hint of spice and crunch. I got the “chito” size and a can of soda for $15. I would come back to try more of the menu, since the beef was really tasty!“

“My wife and I decided to stop by there today for our 1st time ever and try their Breakfast. The place is very cozy, clean and very nice looking inside. The owner was very friendly and is true to his heritage. I had the Lomo al jugo con pan- so delicious with amazing flavor. My wife had un tamal de pollo- nice size portion and delicious. Can wait to go back 5 ++++ Stars from us.“

“Manager was awesome! I ordered the Lomo and it was 22.00, I thought it would be a small serving, and then I saw this platter with ton of lomo on it! I have big hands so that goes to show much food there was and the Onions were delish with their green sauce. I ate for two days on it and of course the Inca Kola is a classic, Best soda around.“

“Good food, limited communication due to the staff have limited English. The dining area was small, very crowded. Food served pretty fast eventhough they need to redo my order because the waiter took the wrong order. Overall foods are delicious.“

“I was in town to visit to see cats at Rahway Kitty Hall. This restaurant is right next store. I stopped into get something to eat. I was impressed with the ambience of the restaurant. My Spanish is not so great, but the staff was very welcoming and accommodating. The food I had was very good. I am interested in people from other cultures and their food. I will surely go there again and try another dish.“

“The food is amazing , I’ve tried many Peruvian spots in the Elizabeth / linden / Rahway areas and this place has the best of them all , great flavor to the food the portions are big and it’s affordable , only bad side is that they never answer the phone which is a huge issue because you have to go in person to order which is very time consuming. You sometimes have to call 10 times to get someone to pick up“

“Carlos and the team at La Skinita provide fresh food that is full of flavor! I order from here every week and have always had a good experience. I recently had them cater an event and my guests were impressed with the chicken and fried rice.“

“My experience here was good. I loved the food. I tried a little bit of everything they had like the ribs, rice, and soup. The restaurant is tiny inside but they do have enough tables if you prefer to eat inside. I’m not sure what the theme or culture of the place is, all I know it’s hispanic. If you’re in the neighborhood come check this place out!“

“Just a personal thing, I am not a fan of cantina style restaurants .
Everything else is excellent the food and service . My wife once asked me why I chose this place for dinner . So I told her it was the waitress/ server. She said that her name was Lady , she knew us from past visits and always knew what I would want always very respectful . Well I can only figure that my wife got a little jealous and told me that we were never going back . We have indeed been back tough with less frequentcy . We will be back , hopefully Lady will be there too . God Bless you all !“

“If you want to taste authentic Peruvian food this is your to go place. 100% recommended!! My family and I constantly go but today we had Chupe de Camarones (it was amazing), saltado de pescado and pescado a lo macho. Everything was perfect but the Chupe was on point. We even order another one for later! . Great service and we even got to know the cook named “ El mono”, nice and friendly. Very clean and great environment.“
