Home fries were a little dry, there was a pound of butter on my toast , which i requested un-buttered.
Service was ok considering a not so busy morning time.
But, my breakfast date was lovely. I will bring her somewhere nicer next time“

“A friend and I had brunch at Percy recently. It was delightful. The food was ample and tasty - I had their version of Shakshuka. It came hot, with delicious flavor, accompanied by crusty bread and perfectly dressed greens on the side. The service was timely, attentive and polite. And the atmosphere was relaxed and warm. I will be back for sure! Also, shout out to the front of house manager, Shanzay (sp?) - so friendly and welcoming!“

“Can’t count how many times we’ve been here but here is my review of Silk City.

The food was excellent. Can’t go wrong in any order. Loved the ambiance. The drinks were good. It’s good to have a reservation as this place gets packed every time, but they could accommodate you to the diner section. Service at the diner section usually takes longer. Lots of parking around the area, but it’s better if you take Lyft or Uber. Staff were amazing and really friendly.

We will always go back to this place.“

“Good food. Service is OK. Coffee is average. Parking is a bit limited. Over all its average. At times you may have to flag down servers for refills on coffee. The feel is gangster.“

“My daughter and I have been wanting to try the soup flight for a while. Today was the day! We both had the daily lunch soup flight special. We both ordered corned beef sandwiches which were delicious and came with fries, coleslaw, pickle, and the soup flight. For the soup choices I got the cream of potato, split pea, and vegetable beef. My daughter got cream of potato, tomato orzo, and vegetable beef. They were all so good! We can’t wait to go again! Looking forward to coming for dinner and trying the salad bar which also looked delicious. Very friendly service as well!“

“I’ve been to Monarch a bunch of times and finally decided they’re TOO good to not leave a review. We brought my Grandpa today and it was a great experience. It’s impressive how quickly we were seated and how quickly the food comes out. They must be hustling in that kitchen and the wait staff has always been so pleasant & polite. “I was worried that Oceanos was gone, like so many great places, another victim of the pandemic. A place called Avenue Diner took its place, and hey, guys… it’s the same family and servers and great food!! Yay! Had dinner with my daughter there this past Friday and was so pleased! The service is every bit as terrific, homey, and individualized as I remember. The food is still amazing and the prices reasonable. My daughter had roast turkey with plenty of stuffing and gravy, which she loved. The salads were very fresh and the dressings were perfect. The rolls and herb butter were warm and fresh. I had salmon which was broiled perfectly, moist with an herb butter sauce. The vegetable was done exactly the way I requested. We took an omelet home for someone who missed the outing and he pronounced it the best restaurant omelet he ever had. Finally, I took a quart on vegetable soup home and ate it the next day. I swear it was my grandmother’s old recipe - large cuts of multiple vegetables including zucchini and carrots and cabbage and more in a perfect veggie broth. Wish I had more right now! So, give Avenue Diner a try… it is worth your time and money. It made me smile!“

“Huge fan, I’ve never had a bad sandwich at Johnny Hot’s, until today 8/30/24. I was supposed to have just pork roll on a steak roll with spicy mustard, no egg and no cheese. The pork roll is usually cut very thin with a nice braise on it. It had egg & cheese on it. The egg & cheese were warm the meat was cool, no grill color to it. By the time I took the egg & cheese off there was hardly any pork roll, very disappointed. It was “no change” Friday, so I gave my apprentice 15 dollars for a sandwich I couldn’t even eat.“

“Let me start by saying don't go in here expecting a traditional restaurant experience. This is an old school, fast paced, self-serve/take-out style diner that is CASH ONLY (has an ATM). That, however, is EXACTLY what I want for good breakfast on a busy weekday morning. And good doesn't begin to describe it. Staff are a well oiled machine used to a very busy fast-paced environment who are there to get your order, give you your food, and let you move on with your day.
Now the food. Let me say, it isn't hard to make good home fries, but these were AMAZING. Onions and peppers in perfectly made home fries with perfect consistency and a taste to die for. No need to season them as they were perfectly seasoned. In my almost 41 years of life, these are the best damned home fries I've ever had! My eggs were made perfectly over medium with wonderful runny yolk like I love them and were wonderfully flavorful. Sausage patties were delicious as well, partner got pancakes that were fluffy and sweet even before the butter and syrup. Excellent diner, fast service. For anyone that likes this kind of place, it is up there for best ever!“

“This makes up for the loss of the Melrose Diner and the Oak Lane Diner. Omelets are really something to ride home about, because they are customizable and are served with hash browns. Plus, it's right at the entrance to the subway station, always a bonus. The staff here are also very friendly; they were willing to check the status of SEPTA's Regional Rail for me, and they were willing to sign my petitions to save SEPTA and keep it running.“
