“My Fiancée and I did a taste testing for our backyard wedding and loved everything. The burger was juicy and cooked to our liking. The pork egg and cheese was delicious and chicken tenders were amazing. The food was just as good as the service and the kindness of the staff. Jersey roll is definitely a contender in our search for a food truck.“
“It's my first time coming to EJ's Tap house for a surprise bday get together for my boyfriend's Uncle Mimmy's 60th Birthday Party. My first impression was meeting Uncle Mimmy, he's so polite, nice & funny as hell, he's a nice person to be around. As a matter of fact, I met Amanda George's cousin, who is also so so nice, & Maryellen George's Auntie, she's also so sweet. Everyone in George's family is so so nice, polite and friendly; & also welcoming too. Anyways, when you go into EJ's Tap House, it's a nice bar area with a nice seating area to drink beers, or alcoholic beverages, non alcoholic beverages too & also play pool too. At every turn I had incredibly scenic locations to provide my couple with epic photos (see attached).In addition the staff was super friendly and helpful as well as the food was really amazing! “Had the pleasure of having brunch here for Easter. Great set up. Lots of great dishes with Prime Rib and ham ( both cooked perfectly ) on the carving station. Salmon and mussels were fantastic. Pastas were great. Server ( Masha )was so sweet and efficient. Can’t wait until next year!“
“Table 13 with JanineLadies and Gentlemen,This is still a service industry. We couldn't have been reminded of this more until we had dinner tonight. We love Shady Rest for the food(any chicken or fried scallops should always be considered) but for the most part, the dining experience has usually been random, at best. Tonight, we had the pleasure of being seated in Janine's section, and we've never had a finer experience at Shady Rest. Janine was The Best! Everything came out correctly and we never waited for a refill. We will be back soon on a Saturday night to sit in Janine's section.“
“My absolute favorite place in Lavallette. The food is always SO good (and elevated beyond!) the ambience is great. Sitting outside in the summer is the best. They also have outdoor seating in the fall and winter with heat lamps. They offer live music a lot. They are kid friendly. Great menu options. Good cocktails, great selection of beers. The service is great. Cannot say enough good things about Castaways, a great addition to the area!“

“Thankfully we got a table as walk ins, but the place was pretty busy. It’s a very beach vibe and the menu reflects all of the summer favorites. We got the Korean wings and avocado fries for starters. The wings were good, but I would pass on the avocado fries. I decided to take a chance and go for the tuna bowl. To my surprise, the tuna was delicious. The rice was cooked perfectly and it filled me up. My boyfriend got the double burger and he could barely finish it. His only commentary was that the waffle fries were trash.“
