“We went here with a friend. The kitchen was a bit loud like someone was banging pots. Decor is pretty sparse, we were the only people there on a Saturday evening. The tacos are good, don't expect any sort of side like beans or rice. Everything on the menu is less than $15 so expect the experience to line up accordingly.“

“I tried their birria tacos when they first opened (1-2 years ago), and they were good but I remember the tacos were on the smaller side compared to others I've had (e.g. Chofi in Union). Granted, they were a new restaurant and I assumed still working out some kinks. In all honesty, I ended up forgetting about this restaurant. I just ordered through Uber eats today, and the tacos were bigger than last time, tasted amazing, and delivered hot. Flavor was on point for the tacos, consome, and green salsa. “Always a great time here, food is delicious and the alcohol is actually good. Never felt sick after drinking margs here even the next day. The food is large portions and always delicious. Recommend getting apps and margs then sharing tacos because we always fill up after we ate that. The wait typically isn’t bad and there’s always been space at the bar to wait. “I didn’t get a picture of my food because I was so hungry. The hospitality in the establishment was above and beyond. “Whenever I am in the area, this Mexican deli is my go to stop! Lots of my Mexican restaurant only give three tacos in the order BUT this place does four. It has been years since I found a place that does 4 tacos in a order! 100% recommend the tacos from this place and picadas. The only down part of this place is the dining, there are only a couple of tables and in the weekend it is usually hard to find one. I have been very lucky and have always found a table but I have seen others. The owner of this restaurant shows great hospitality and is attentive to customers.“

The young lady answers very politely, understands our order and gets it right every-time! It is ready is a very timely manner. It is carefully packed, with salsas and chips. Most orders include a little salad, limes, and yummy chiles. We love the enchiladas verdes, pollo empanizado (breaded chicken cutlet). The arroz and fríjoles are DELICIOUS! “The kid was craving Mexican food so we searched Yelp and found that this place has good reviews. The photos of the food looked good. We decided to try it. There is no parking lot for this place. There is a Municipal parking lot about one block over behind the post office. We lucked out as there was street parking directly in front of the restaurant. We ordered agua de Jamaica. Huge glass for $4.95. I would guess that it's 16-20 ounces. Gigantic. Well priced. We ordered guacamole which was good too. They didn't give us any salsa for the table like they do at other Mexican joints. For our mains, we ordered their mixed fajitas with shrimp chicken and beef. It was about $21 and it was a huge dish. It's not the usually fajitas that I've had at other places. Theirs comes in a delicious sauce which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was a generous portion and the flavors were on point. We recommend it. Our other dish was the El Rinconcito which came with grilled items: pork cutlets, beef, chicken, shrimps cactus, Spanish cheese rice and beans. It was an alright eight. We prefer the saucy fajita dish more. We def plan to go back. Next time, we are going to order their molcajete which is listed at $34.95 so I assume it'll be a huge dish for two based on the price. From the owners description, it Comes with all kinds of meats steak chicken shrimp pork sausage. I'm trying my best not to go back two days in a row but I may swing by for Lunch later. Good is good as is service. Good came out quick and she asked a few times whether we needed anything else. I believe they give some sort of cash discount or charge to use credit card because she asked how I was paying. They add an auto tip of 15% which I didn't mind. Gave her a few bucks more. All in all, it was a good meal. Appears to be a small mom and pop store and I'm happy to support local small business. It helps that the food is delicious too.“

Qdoba offers more substantial portions at more affordable prices. In terms of taste, Moe's and Qdoba are quite comparable. “Came here with a group of 6 girlfriends. It was a bit early so we were seated right away. Let begin to say this is the first time at a Mexican restaurant with a HUGE array of menu options! We were greeted by our server Abel he was fantastic! We all started with a flight of margaritas which were tasty but had no alcohol in them we even mentioned it to the server. He did not bring out extra tequila or anything. The flight cost us $30 each for juice, that is the reason I took 1 star off!! We all shared two orders of guac... really good. Most of us had the mixed fajitas, my other 2 friends had the enchiladas and the sirloin steak and shrimp on a stone. Our food was great, good flavor and portions. At the end, we all were given a shot of tequila, even that shot felt watered down! I would come back here for the food, they definitely need to work on their drinks! If they start to get the drinks right this place would be out of this world!“

“Had been to an event in Roosevelt ave and saw this shop. I thought it was a regular bottle shop but was surprised once I entered the shop . They had a very good bar to sit and enjoy some beers ? on tap. They also had a DJ kinda guy playing some songs . Good space inside to sit and eat / drink. Amazing service and quick billing . The food is absolutely delicious with generous portions, great flavor, and fair prices. You can tell they put a lot of love and care into their dishes, making it feel like a home cooked meal every time. I have been to other authentic Mexican restaurants closer to my home, but none quite compare to Tropico. I will certainly make the drive here for their top tier quality. It appears the printed menu is a little out of date and some of the items are not on the website.
