A guy whose name I think was maneater told me I had to eat 100 cookies or else Donkey Kong would turn me into a banana. I said ok and began this grueling challenge. “Despite their name, Texas wiener spiced chili dogs are a New Jersey fast food staple, and few if any places are more synonymous with the Texas wiener than the Hot Grill in Clifton, NJ. Overall, it’s the second best chili dog of any kind I’ve had after my beloved Hiram’s in Fort Lee. Obviously Texas wiener style chili is more of a spicy sauce, Hot Grill’s sauce has excellent flavor, almost curry like. Hiram’s and Rutt’s Hutt use a more a traditional meaty chili, which is my personal preference, but to each their own. The customer service was kind and welcoming. Vintage Americana fast food atmosphere and very spacious. Their Burgers, especially if you put the their Texas Wiener sauce on it, is also one of the better fast food/diner style burgers I’ve had in a while. Overall, well worth the trip from Budd Lake.“

“I know it's a chain but their pizza is pretty darn good. The crust is very thin and crunchy and it's very customizable - cheese, sauce, toppings, condiments, pineapple whatever fancy you. They put whatever you ask for in front of you and put it in the oven. I don't know how but it's usually ready within minutes. I've had takeout but it's really best when you eat it right after it comes out. You can also order via the app and specify what time to pick up which is a plus. And every now and then they would give you coupons to lure you back but we don't mind it because we (especially my 4 year old) really do like their pizza.“

The chicken was seasoned nice and was super juicy on the inside yet golden crispy on the outside. I was stoked to try the fries next because there was enough for a family and golden in color. Sadly they were soggy, not fried nearly as long as they should have been and lacked salt. I ate just a few both with and without ketchup and tossed them. This small trendy looking corner store had a couple display cases with mainly fried chicken and desserts offered as grab-n-go. There were 2 thin tables to stand at and eat if desired and quiet with one chef and one cashier. Friendly staff though with great recommendations.Parking: Street parking already taken. The food is great the wings aren't too meaty and unrealistic big like other places which i like i feel like your eating actual chicken wings. Only thing i recommend is getting your fries well done when ordering out so the container doesn't make them soggy when you receive them especially if its your first time ordering from here. They're various flavors to choose from and you can mix two flavors so you can get a chance to try two at once and the flavors are pretty promising I've at here quite a few times to tell you this is a real deal solid place to eat.“
