“*GRID IRON IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED*Let me start off by saving I'm so upset for multiple reasons. This place was closed WITHOUT notice to the community.The cost of the menu was more expensive (being a customer for over a decade) but everything has gone up. I did appreciate the streamlined menu. The owner(s) never made themselves available or connected with the community and this place has changed owners at least 3 times. This latest owner had articles written about her from the South Orange press and she clearly didn't have the business accumen to keep the place going. Not everyone wants a diner breakfast so the elevated menu at Grid Iron was great.***********RESPONSE TO OWNER 3/241. My family and I have been patronizing this establishment for over a decade and during COVID.2. The "guilt trip"is what's unnecessary. If you have that much on your plate and taking on the restaurant wasn't a priority all well and good. Your lack of experience as an entrepreneur, having a full time job and being "talked into/sold on a business" with you have no background in the restaurant industry is no excuse for lack of decency.3. A proper notice typed and taped on the door, social media page and updating the status on Google is the responsible thing to do to notify the community. Myself and several others had to walk up to the door and see "kitchen closed" and the place looking like it was robbed with a realty sign in the window.4. I gain nothing but actually communicating which is something that you didn't do. There are several restaurants also affected by COVID that are still operational in the community.5. What did you gain? The business is CLOSED and your responding for what? Instead of calling my review unnecessary, the right thing would have been to say thank you for being a long time customer. Sorry things happened the way that they did instead of trying to make me out to be wrong and for you to gain sympathy over a poorly handled situation.“

“The products are delicious, the place is very clean, but I feel that the service needs to be improved, we arrived and no one served us, my family was waiting to be served and they had no idea that the barcode had to be scanned to be able to see the menu and no one told “

“Spectacular! I didn't know him before, I came in by coincidence because I was passing by that street. I loved the atmosphere, the decoration, the music is relaxing and the food was exquisite, everything was very delicious, the dishes have a unique, gourmet, out of the ordinary flavor.The attention is very good, they are friendly and the service is fast.I would return to this place and recommend it.Kid-friendliness: My 7 year old daughter loved this place, and the sweet crepes come with very cute decorations.“

“We love Montclair Nutrition! Josh and Aliyah are always so welcoming and their food is great. Their delicious protein shakes and drinks in a wide range of flavors never disappoint. And, their waffles are the absolute best -- high protein, low carb and low calorie -- can't beat them. We buy in bulk and freeze them so we can enjoy throughout the week -- a real treat. “Small menu done well! The brunch is to die for but fair warning, the location is small so plan ahead if you are trying to dine-in. We shared a waffle that will haunt my dreams until I get another and my lentil burger with mint chutney was fantastic. The Barista game there was also on point. Dirty chai or the Honey cardamom latte are strong picks.“

Service was standard and have nothing bad to say about this place! It is a Jersey diner so can’t expect much for decorations but I’ve been coming here for years and will keep coming.Parking: Parking lot is adjacent to diner. “Got a sando combo. Fries were perfect and the sandwich shocked me... it easily has enough chicken on it for two sandwiches compared to other places. Went medium on the heat and for me it was a good choice for the first time trying the place out. Just enough heat and still able to taste the sandwich which was delicious. My only gripe would be there isn't one in my town.“
