“Full marks across the board, everything on the extensive menu is great with the Irish mixed grill and the salmon being my favorites. The portions are huge the servers are all terrific and in the evenings and weekends there is always a lively atmosphere. I highly recommend this place to all food lovers and double recommend it to those on a budget“
“After watching a college basketball game, we went to this local bar/ pub that I had visited before and I was not disappointed. There were patrons who knew each other and were actually pleased to see each other sort of like the series Cheers only better. The ambiance, food, drinks, and music was just right to enjoy the afternoon . Our server was friendly and professional. I will definitely be coming back.“
“We happened upon this delightful spot after touring the Intrepid. We were hungry for good food and were not disappointed. I had a Franziskaner draft and a cheeseburger, while cooked to well, when I asked for medium, it was well seasoned and had a good flavor on a nice hard roll. My wife had the grilled chicken wrap, I ate 1/2 of it and really liked it. It was a nice balance of pesto and mozzarella to chicken. The side salad wase nicely dressed. This was a seriously nice find, it was charming to walk into one of the oldest continually run bars in NYC and find great draft beer and food at an affordable for NYC price. The service was outstanding as well.“
“We always have a nice experience at The Shannon Rose, but last night was exceptional, principally because of the server, Marienella. She was amazing. So nice, patient (my wife had many questions and sent her specialty drink back once for modification), sociable and knowledgeable. Marienella made our entire time there that much more special!“
“Went to this bar after bartender at the Valerie lost our credit card. The lady behind the bar was kind and promptly served our drinks to get over the trauma at the Valerie.Ranting aside, chili lime wings and calamari were amazing. Great crunch, well seasoned, great flavor, and satisfying serving size.“
“the friendly neighborhood pub you imagine from TV shows. the staff are super friendly and welcoming. we always have a good time enjoying a drink and laughs. there are darts and pool in the back, too! can’t recommend highly enough for get togethers small and large.“
“Me and my boyfriend stopped in to get a drink on Sunday afternoon and Ro was amazing as soon as we walked through the door. She was attentive the whole time and we loved talking to her. Great drinks, great service. I’m from Stony Point, NY and I can’t wait to come back to see the live music.“
“A snug and cozy little pub, the Westbury, like Blaggards on the same block, has pretty good lunch specials. I recommend sitting at the bar to interact with the bartender, as they were very friendly to us on our first time there. The decorations at the time were also around the holidays, so there were lights and Christmas items strewn about inside. The food is pretty good, and their chips are nice and thickly sliced. It is decently crispy. The fish that came with was only thinly breaded, which was a nice surprise. They also make pretty good cocktails. There is also a nice selection of other typical gastropub-like food on their menu.Overall, not a bad spot for the local salary people to come for lunch. For the usual sports event periods, it can get very crowded.“
“We are never disappointed when we stop here when we visit NYC. Atmosphere and food is always fantastic and they make killer Manhattans. We just went for the 2023 Rockefeller tree and the staff was pleasant and accommodating. so happy they were decorated for the holidays. 100% go to in our opinion.“
“Completely unexpected! Many years ago stepped in unknowingly of their history and was greeted by Jimmy and you felt known even though it was my first visit. Sat at bar and staff was so attentive. Food was incredible! Second visit… was like how I imagine walking into to “Cheers” would have been. Everyone remembered even though months went by! A rare gem in NYC and worth a visit for the amazing food, warm and meaningful hospitality and connections! Became a regular and will always be a stop after leaving NYC on my visits !“
“Stopped in for a couple of drinks while headed to the subway, super glad I did! The bartender was amazing and went out of his way to take care of us. Clean and comfortable traditional Irish pub with plenty of TVs to catch the game. Highly recommend.“
“Love coming to this place as a treat after a weird day. The Maggie's old fashioned is the best old fashioned I've had. The ahi tuna nachos are my favorite appetizer. Or if you're looking for something warming and filling, please try the Shepard's pie with the cheese added. No matter how busy it gets, the staff are always nice and easy to communicate with.“
“I was killing time in the city before my flight later that day. This was the 4th spot I visited and I decided to post up for the remainder of my visit. Very chill vibe and the bartender, Lucas, was awesome. Thanks for helping me kill some time! Will definitely stop in on the next visit!“
“Took a trip up to Riverdale for lunch. Met a friend up there who recommended Au Beal Bocht cafe. An absolutely adorable little place. A short walk from the subway.(Up a very steep staircase) Very charming place. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Had to wait a bit for a table. There was a large party in back that I believe took up a lot of the seating this place has. Food was great. We had the traditional Irish breakfast and the omelette special they had. Delicious! Brunch came with a free drink. We got the mimosa. It came in a medium size ball jar! It was yummy and left me with a nice buzz.I totally recommend this place. If you're up in Riverdale or wanting to visit definitely stop here for your meal.“
“If you want to end your night after experiencing times square, this is the place. Just a minute walk. This pub is lit. Made some good friends and the live music makes you go round twoParking: Parking anywhere in NYC is difficult. Plan ahead or wait to get lucky finding a spot“
“3/15/24We were actually on our way up to Shannon Rose when I thought I should check out other Irish Pubs/Restaurants and landed on Celtic Corner. Google maps show the large location, so we knew it wouldn't be a dive bar.I'm so glad we came and got to taste the food here.French Onion Soup was delicious! It's so good and flavorful. When I got my bowl, I thought they forgot the cheese, which wouldn't be an issue for me because I can't have cheese. I usually peel it off and give it to hubby, lol. He was sad there wasn't much cheese. But as I dug down, I saw more cheese, it seemed the bread flipped over, and all the cheese was underneath. LOL. Like they say, don't judge a book by its cover ;)We got the 6 piece Wings with the Hot Garlic Honey sauce. Tasty wings, just need more hot lol. It's so sticky! We both had to wash our hands after heheheGuinness Beef Stew was so good! I wish I could eat beef, I would devour this! I took a piece of the carrots, and it was amazing!Bangers and Mash was ok, nothing like the Beef Stew. Sadly, I took a bite of the Beef Stew 1st, so the Bangers and Mash was kind of bland compared.Victoria was an awesome waitress. Very attentive and on point!Parking: The parking lot is behind the restaurant, almost missed it, but then saw a sign on the floor, which we assume pointed into the parking lot LOL. They share the parking lot with other businesses including a movie theater. So might be hard to get parking on a weekend.“
“In terms of Pubs in the neighborhood by far one of the best, owner cares about the customers, great during lunch/ dinner hours, plenty of entertainment also, great for athletic teams to go to as there are plenty of booths to sit in available 10/10.“
“Pretty standard Pub, which isn't a chop but praise. Who doesn't love a good Irish/English pub? Decor is great, bathrooms are clean, drinks are plenty. The Barbacoa Tacos were acceptable, the soft taco shells were tasteless, dry, and fell apart. The meat was delicious though. This location is close to GCT which is awesome.“
“Went to NYC for Yankees home opener. First night we visited four Irish pubs. Mulligans was by far the best in several areas: 1) Best ambience 2) Best bartender- both Irish and super attentive and most importantly, 3) By far the best Guinness. My friend, who travels to Ireland at least twice a year, said the Guinness tasted like it does in Ireland. And I thought it was the best Guinness of all the Irish bars we visited in NYC!!!“
“I visited this bar on a weekend night for a pint. The place has a strong pub atmosphere, with exposed wood and Irish signage. There was a person doing live music in the corner who was great. The bartenders were attentive and quick to serve. Overall I had a great time here.“
“Definitely highly recommended!Very friendly and a pleasant atmosphere. The food was very good and "spicy" ;)Special credits to Christopher and the new employee JeffThey helped us with the choice stress. In the netherlands we say: Dankjewel toppers!Greetings from Urk (Netherlands) ?“
“My family has been dining here since I was in high school, 12+ years. This is a true family business. The food menu is fantastic and the weekly specials are always fresh and delicious. This weekend we hosted a surprise birthday party for my mom. Siobhan was communicative during the whole planning process. She sent us menus, pictures of other party set ups, and recommendations for bakers for the cake. They offer a buffet option but we went with a plated lunch. We were able to select 5 entree selections and our guests ordered what they wanted day of. We chose Sheppards Pie, corned beef and cabbage, fish and chips, chicken francese and penne all vodka. The guests had 5 dessert options to choose from as well. I ate the fish and chips and it was excellent! Siobhan and Sophie waitressed our party of 30 and were patient, organized and caring. Matt was behind the bar and came over to introduce himself when we arrived. He also assisted Siobhan and Sophie with the set up. We brought in an outside cake and they kept it in the freezer until we were ready to have it on display. They cut and served it for us, and boxed up our leftovers. We had a wonderful afternoon thanks to Siobhan and are so grateful to have a restaurant like Brady's in our area!“
“Playwright Irish Pub is amazing! Proud to call it home of #TigresEnNYC. It's always great for watching soccer and of course, any other sports. Mazum and the crew are always great not hesitating putting the game for us and making sure we have a great time. The food is amazing and the beer is always cold as it should be!“
“Visited here on a busy Friday evening without a booking during our recent trip to NYC due to my partners Guinness addiction steering us in that direction. They were really kind and found us a table, the service was impeccable and we were very well looked after. I can honestly say the short rib papperdelle is one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth, it was a flavour sensation, I savored every single mouthful. The expresso martini I washed it down with was pretty good too. We went back again on Sunday evening as I wanted to try the New York strip steak which was also delicious. If we are ever in the area again we will certainly be back.“
“Tommy Fox's Public House in Bergenfield, New Jersey is a cool bar that has that cool Irish pub feel to it. The service was friendly and the customers were pretty friendly here, as well. I did not try any of the food, but it looked to be what you would expect from a bar. This is definitely a cool.place to gather with some friends and overall, I would recommend here.“
“This is a nice neighborhood bar and restaurant and our server was so friendly and helpful. We got there early so we chatted with our server while selecting our drinks. My husband had Guinness Half and half, and I struggled because there were no sours on tap or in cans. I read the draft list more carefully and selected a Down East Cider after having a taste. It was a good choice with a strong apple flavor, a little carbonation and a medium sweetness The menu looked good and the specials sounded nice and next time we will give it a try. Several TV's for watching sports!“
“Went there with my girlfriend last night to celebrate my first official legal saint Patrick’s day. The waitress there was very nice. She was very informative on the drinks. Knew what she was talking about. The food there was great. Will absolutely return. No doubt. Thank you so much!“
“Love going here for Knicks playoff games. Great spot with tons of seating and TVs. What I love the most is that they turn on the volume (only for playoff games unfortunately…would really like it if they did it season-round though). Nonetheless, still a go to spot for sports games.“
“We’re not from NYC, but whenever we are in town we visit the Milton. Amazing food, great atmosphere, and they truly make you feel at home. I wish this place was in my hometown so I could be one of the regulars. I will 100% come back any time I’m in the city.“
“I just stumbled upon Connollys prior to a concert. We were greeted, seated, and ordered our food without hesitation! I had a burger and fries and my companion had the fish and chips, both which were very tasty. Our server Rory was really attentive and polite. I would definitely recommend Connollys!!“
“Stop in for light fare was impressed with its full menu. We had breaded mushrooms. Chili cheese fries. Rubin sliders and steak tidbits. All delicious fresh. Prices were great service excellent It’s night fir dining but great neighborhood pub Really enjoyed“
“McHales is within a stone’s throw of Time Square and a bunch of hotels, but somehow manages to retain a local feel. I say somehow, but this is because the founder, Paul, is a dead-set champion bloke, the rest of the staff are authentic and welcoming, the space is large enough to have some privacy and small enough to feel cosy, and sitting at the bar is a classic New York Irish treat (without the sticky beer-stained feel). I found it while I was there for PLUS NEW YORK (if you know, you know) and invited brokers to come and see me there. So, when in NYC, get yourself down there and sit back, relax, eat good food, say hi to Paul and the team and enjoy.“
“Very exciting find. Searched for restaurants near my hotel that served wings three different times and did not see this as a suggestion. While walking saw the sign and decided to investigate. Will definitely be back on future visits to new York. Next time I will try an entree... maybe. The appetizers were delicious and the make it yourself tray was great. I do not drink, but the drink specials were varied. Went during happy hour, so it was pretty packed but still comfortable. Wait staff friendly and attentive.“
“I first discovered Finnegans Wake in 1990 and it was and still is my favorite NY place. Those were the days, my friend. We thought they’d never end but I haven’t been back to NYC since 2013. I heard Ignatius passed and May he RIP and Frank, the best bartender must have retired. If not, please give him a shout out from his “California Girls , Maria and Kelly.“
“I always have a great time here, whether it's for drinks with friends, solo dinner or a date. The servers and bartenders are very friendly and down to earth. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Quality of food is very good. It's a little small, which never caused me any problems, but something to keep in mind on busier days. Someone here complained in a review that it's expensive for the amount of food that you get but you're paying for quality not quantity. Plus it's still cheaper than the overpriced restaurants in Rutherford, which seem to prefer status over service.“
“Still an Irish pub in nearby Midtown West with welcoming gesture, classic Irish dishes and huge bar brings you in the mood after work or lunch outings . It has classic atmosphere and staff are friendly as it possible get since they all Irish . Secret gem ?“
“Was just visiting the area and watched the Super Bowl at Gerry's and had great time. Good food, great staff and fun atmosphere. Great TV viewing set up. A fun friendly crowd. Thanks Gerry's for a fun night. (PS They also provided a free halftime buffet of food goodies)“
“This has been a fav stop for many years. They always had a great lunch special (I worked at Lord & Taylor which was across the street ?) I feel they've been there 100yrs. The ONLY business that survived (the pandemic)on the block. I hope they survive another hundred?❤️“
“Great place to hang out! Usually packed after work. We came for lunch. Our server Michele was amazing, patient when we couldn't decide. When she brought our drinks she totally looked like Wednesday Adam's see my photo. Xavier brought our meal w a smile! Great place, come one come all!“
“I like the atmosphere there!Great place to have a drink with friends after the long week.Forgot to mentioned the second floor is much more quiet.Staff are super cool; They played nice pub music and danced ?This place carries the oldest brewery from Germany. -Weihenstephan:) ?I had a delightful time there.Recommended“
“Nice little Irish pub with good atmosphere and service.I had a hankering for bangers and mash as well as Onion Rings. The onion rings were amongst the best I’ve ever had - light batter with the right amount of seasoning and the oil was fresh. The bangers and mash were good too. Just the right amount of everything on the plate.I’d say it is good value for money in a sit down restaurant in NYC.Thank you!“
“Great place for food and to watch live sports! We came over from Ireland and one of the staff members was saying about them having friends over there. Very friendly staff and the atmosphere and settings is amazing. I will look forward to returning next time!“
“Saturday Night Saint Patrick’s day weekend. I missed my train and just was having a bad day overall. decided to check out the bar. Rachel was my server. She was very welcoming and hospitable. Drinks were on point. Rachel made the time go quickly Just wanted to say thanks again and I’ll def be back here.“
“This pub and the employees here are amazing. We have been here 63 days due to my daughter being in the hospital with a serious brain injury. They have been our family. The pub is only 2 blocks from NYP so we felt comfortable coming here every night for dinner so we stayed close in case we needed to run back. Their menu is big enough to have something different every night. The food is amazing!! When we walk in, whoever is working asks us how our daughter’s day went. They are caring, incredible individuals who were able to put a smile on our face for a couple of hours a day. I can’t say enough about the staff—John, Dee, Matt, Kerith, Edwin, Isabella, Jerry and G, and don’t forget the owner Manny. They are all such compassionate people and I can’t wait to come back with my daughter after she fully recovers and introduce her to this awesome group (we are headed to NJ for rehab so we have to say our tearful goodbyes). They will always remain in our hearts for their kindness. Bye…for now“
“I had mixed feelings due to some misleading early info by the day person . This individual seemed too preoccupied with discrediting their coworkers. I have to say Susan was a complete contradiction to what we heard. She was so friendly and welcoming to my party that I not only made sure to come back but also had my 56th birthday party. The place is what seems your typical dive bar but my whole party was made feel special by the bartenders remembering our names and from the moment we walked in the owner Rob was there to assist. I don’t make reviews often but this birthday was made so special by such a friendly bar and its workers on the ues. Thank you Rob, Susan and the bar back Jesus. I can’t say enough about how you made us feel.“
“Our trip to NYC was 10 days long and every single day we visited The Keg NYC. We loved the second we arrived how welcomed we were and how friendly the staff was. Food was good and ate there 2/10 days but we were here for the fab drinks, especially our Favorite PINK MOJO. Even half way through our trip they took the drink off the menu but they kept making lots of rounds for us. We want to give a huge thank you to the wonderful staff that treated us like family. Meagan, Colm, Mike, Joe, Mario, Collette, and the Owner, Mary. And our barstool buddy, Ed! Enjoy our napkin notes, we will miss you and you guys were definitely the biggest highlight of our trip. Till next time, The Canadian Girls.“
“If you are looking for a good take out lunch, this is your place. They have hot food and cold sandwiches, really good homemade cookies, and more. It's really not expensive -- lots of good meals for under $10. The people are nice friendly and helpful. You can see how good it is by seeing all the people lined up to order lunch!!“
“Excellent food and service. Tight fit inside on St Patrick's Day but guests enjoying dinner were gracious, friendly, and understanding of gentle bumps. Lots of families with children of various ages and various groups of adults. Good crowd.Good hum of music in the background but not so loud you couldn't talk, good selection of sports on tv's on mute. One restroom was down a flight of stairs, I understand there are other bathroom options but I didn't get to see them for myself. Washed hands, no issue. Not sure on stall size. Street parking as far as I could tell.Menu was great. Lamb burger well done w all the fixings and sweet curry sauce on the side was outstanding. Flavorful and tender. The kitchen team graciously split the burger for us and the fries between two plates as we said we were going to split it as our appetizer. Really listened to us and it was a welcome surprise. Each of us had the shepards pie and the mashed potatoes were light but still substantial. Broiled under the oven and decorated with fresh rosemary we sprinkled over-top was very complimentary. Portions were just right, food was hot, drinks were cold and service was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Prices were fair.Overall a wonderful evening. Thank you!“
“My parents and I had a great time at the perfect pint. We arrived early in advance of our booking and were readily accommodated. The Guinness was well poured, and the food was good, but what stood out the most was the service. We were very well taken care of, particularly by our server, Freddy. Freddy was super friendly and he made us feel right at home.“
“Amazing Irish food - and the prices are fabulous. Beer is always cold, vibes are always good. Best bar for a night in sweats or a night out with friends. Karaoke, trivia, bands, everything you could want. Bangers & Mash, Shepard's Pie, chicken Caesar wrap, fish & chips, burger, Cajun wrap, all “
