“We went there with friends celebrating our wedding anniversarys. The server and staff were excellent. It was a little bit noisy at first but as the crowd diminished it was delightful evening.We arrived at 7:30 and left at 9:45. At no time did we feel rushed to leave.The portions were generous and my wife and friends wife both took food home for the next day.“

This time was good but not as spectacular as in the past - no one pulled out my chair for me, the menu is a little less robust and I wish they would offer some gluten free bread. (Yes I know the kitchen will cross contaminate and they cannot guarantee the food is GF) That said Luis was a great server, the food was delicious and the wine list is a work of art. (So is the wine cellar)“

“Most people see diners and get melancholy for the same bland and boring food, but that is where I will challenge you. Today, I was served the most flavorful dishes from any diner I have been to in my life. I will admit it was a very pleasant surprise and a very wholesome experience. The portion sizes were nice, they didnt overload the plates to make up for poor flavor, nor was it so exquisite that you had a simple morsel. All in all, the food was very well done showing both love of the food and the love of serving. As for the atmosphere, nothing too complex but nothing too simple, it showed a small piece of history from Clinton allowing for immersion and a peaceful environment. The waitress we had was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu as well as quick and precise with our requests!
All in all this restaurant has been put on my "visit again very soon" list. Such a pleasant experience and I'm excited for my next meal here.“

Every detail was seamlessly handled: valet link provided in advance, immediate concierge and bellhop assistance, no waiting at check-in, and a flawless, impeccably maintained property. They even offered an Escalade shuttle to the restaurant so I wouldn’t have to walk in heels—just one example of how thoughtful and guest-centered everything is.

What makes this place ideal is that you never need to leave the property. Whether it’s a quiet retreat for couples or a family-friendly stay, the balance is perfect. Even with many families around, the atmosphere remained serene, and our adult weekend was never disturbed.

The staff made our stay unforgettable. Aiden welcomed us warmly and kept us entertained while our room was prepared. Michele was gracious with our luggage, and Chris went above and beyond—hauling our suitcase to the pool in the heat when our plans shifted from e-biking (my wife couldn’t quite reach the pedals!) to relaxing by the water. At the pool, Paige kept us refreshed with her bright, cheerful energy, making us feel truly spoiled.

Dining was equally memorable. At 90 Acres, our server Corey elevated dinner with thoughtful touches, including a surprise dessert packaged to-go when she noticed how full we were. In the Tavern, Rudy made us feel like old friends, mixing cocktails with care and conversation that made the night.

Every single staff member made us feel valued and cared for, which is rare even in luxury hotels. This property is more than just beautiful—it’s an experience that lingers long after you leave. In fact, it was the first trip where we didn’t take a single photo—we were so present and immersed in the moment that reaching for our phones never even crossed our minds.

We started with the burrata, which was beautifully plated. It was creamy, fresh, and perfectly complemented by the roasted squash, pine nuts, and vibrant green sauce underneath. Our server, Anna took it all in stride. She was friendly and very efficient. Appreciated her cheerfulness and patience. Food was delicious and the cocktails, I’m told were refreshing. We are a huge ice cream cake family- our daughter wanted a cookie dough and cookies and cream ice cream cake for her birthday and Williams and Co. did not disappoint. “This little gem was quite the pleasant surprise on our way through NJ. Wings are crispy skin and tender, the onion rings are perfect with the chipotle aioli and the mozzarella wedges had about a foot of cheese pull! My husband had the Rail burger. He couldn’t finish it because it was so big. One patty but about an inch thick and actually fits the whole bun. Daughters had the poke bowl and chicken quesadillas. So much food and they both said both things were the best they’ve had in their life (14 and 16) and they’ve had those A LOT!

Staff was friendly and I felt bad there was really only one person serving all tables at lunch plus bartending. Service didn’t slack because of this! She kept up with all tables and she busted her butt!

I cannot give this place enough kudos. Great food, amazing service!! In a quiet little town but would be worth the drive to go here again from Ohio. Go check them out. It’ll be worth it!“

“We have eaten there several times and it is always delicious. We want to give special appreciation to Rachel, your manager, for her special caring and sensitivity to our needs. In today's world, where one struggles, especially if old like we are, to speak to a live human being, when you are able to converse with a person who is actually listening to what you said, this is rare. Add to that delicious fresh food and you have a winner. Tonight we had fresh large shrimps with a most delicious home made cocktail sauce. Fresh crab cakes with a fabulous remoulade, and a chocolate mousse to die for as dessert. We ordered too much and have to save some for tomorrow. We live in town, and are happy to see the names of so many out of town visitors appreciate Chesapeake Tavern.“

“We visited Willie McBride’s on a Saturday afternoon because of their gluten free menu items. There are several GF items, and they have a dedicated fryer. My daughter enjoyed the GF chicken fingers and steak fries. I had the fish and chips, and my wife had pulled pork sliders. The food was very good. We will definitely return soon to try other items on their Irish pub menu.“
