“Been a fan of Riley and Jake’s for Years! This week I made reservations for a group of 15 ladies. Arrival times varied from 5.30-6:30 and departure times varied too. Our server, Anna took it all in stride. She was friendly and very efficient. Appreciated her cheerfulness and patience. Food was delicious and the cocktails, I’m told were refreshing. Thank you to Jake and Riley’s for another wonderful experience!“

“The staff are all kind, helpful, accommodating, and genuinely there to make your evening perfect. Chris the hostess was wonderful, as well as the many servers who all willingly supported Gary, the owner, to provide the best service and culinary experience possible for his dinner guests. The menu is one of the best we have seen in the area with many international dishes, some with the labor intensive Indian nuances, and others just with downright phenomenal flavors. Although they have lots of standard fare for the UNadventurous eater, I would suggest you reach past your comfort zone and try some of the appetizers that jump out as potential winners...like the tuna tartare that with just a splash of Japanese Rice wine vinegar would be one of the best I have ever had, as well as the grilled Tandoori shrimp that is marinated in yogurt, ginger, cloves nutmeg, and dried mango; the grilled lamp chops that come with three perfectly grilled meaty garlicky chops that come with mango chutney, and the Haryali chicken Tikka- three huge plump boneless breast of chicken slices that are marinated in mint, yogurt, roasted cloves, green cardamom and star anise, and served with their famous tiger sauce and salsa. We also shared another marinated shredded beef dish special that had three beef croquette-shaped mounds that had such a umami of flavors I can't even replicate it in this review, but we thought it was just great. I would be remiss if I did not mention the creamy, silky crème brûlée that we enjoyed with a glass of Prosecco; a perfect encore to the phenomenal culinary treat we had just experienced with the appetizer medley. Sharing many apps is more fun we think, than committing to one big entree, so we suggest that you dash over to the Pittstown Inn TONIGHT, and tell them Debbie and Gene sent you....ask to meet Gary, the owner, who elegantly floats from table to table, touching each to greet them and to check later on as well to see if everything was to their liking. A true host from days gone by, this owner is the real deal whose passion for the hospitality business emulates from his constant smile from the joy he is getting from making his guests happy. You see that what fuels this man to keep opening his doors from year to year, despite the many hardships and setbacks life has dealt us all over and over, is his love for you, his loyal customer. He is a rare find, so I suggest you go and treat yourself to the real deal in dining. You will not be disappointed, and be sure to ask to meet Gary. He will make your visit complete. Kudos the phenomenal chefs I met as well, for their expertise and genuine ingenuity in designing a menu to please everyone. Can you tell we LOVE this place??????????“

“My boyfriend and I went to Longhorn Steakhouse in Flemington and our waitress, Jaelyn, was outgoing and very polite (when I come back here in the future I will be asking for her because she provided exceptional service!)

For our appetizer we got the spicy chicken bites were very spicy (I’m not a huge fan of spice) but my boyfriend said they were good! My brother enjoys spice so we’ll probably give them to him. We got the bread and butter they serve as well which was fabulous. The butter tasted better than any butter I’ve had before.

We ordered a filet and a sirloin. Both were amazing, but the filet was perfect. We got medium rare and the difference in taste was pretty obvious. The sirloin was good compared to other steakhouses, but the filet was splendid and makes me want to continue having filets over sirloins where I can.

The sides were pretty standard. We ordered mashed potatoes, broccoli, and french fries. The fries have a slight seasoning to them, but overall very good. The broccoli was steamed and had a slight crunch. The mashed potatoes were good. My boyfriend said they were likely made with butter and cream. What put me off of the mashed potatoes were the small lumps.

For dessert, we ordered the molten lava cake with the sauces on the sides. The molten lava cake was amazing without the sauces (I personally didn’t enjoy them). Extra points because this is my favorite dessert and they did it right!

“The bagels aren't the same, but they're still good bagels. Place is clean. It's a bagel place. If you place a big order at a busy time, check your order. That's standard for any food establishment. Their bagels are good, I've never had bad service, nor do I expect a gala in a bagel shop. I see people with some reviews that make it abundantly clear they've never worked in food service, and perhaps should be less judgemental, and take time to be a more conscientious consumer.“
