“We've enjoyed their lunches and their dinners. We love their salad- fresh tasty cucumbers, tomatoes and ? that makes it great. We like their lentil soup. We adore the special Noni Afghan (or Nan, a staple, long, oval flatbread with a chewy interior and crusty exterior). We like the choice of rice (my favorite is weird brown long rice with carrots and raisins) We have tried most of the meat choice- all are delicious. 3 very different sauces are fun - the white yogurt sauce makes everything tastes great. The service is always friendly, never rushed. We enjoy coming to Silk Road often.“

The food was fresh, flavorful, and everyone loved it. What really stood out was the outstanding service. Amar, Eyad, and the entire staff were attentive, professional, and made sure everything went smoothly from start to finish. They made the entire experience easy and enjoyable. Highly recommend!“

Made with fresh meat (not frozen formed patty) - not sure whst the English would be but I know it in Yiddish as “hockfleish.” The BBQ sauce added to the taste of the meat without being overpowering and the onion, pickle, lettuce and the challah bun were all extremely fresh. It's dimly lit inside which made reading the menu a bit challenging. However, everything we did order made up for it! I highly recommend the Frittura di Calamari for an appetizer. The following dishes we ordered were spectacular! Rigatoni alla Vodka, Penne alla Grotta, Gnocchi Alessandra, Norwegian Salmon (special), Penne al Forno, Spaghetti alla Carbonara and the Pollo alla Francese! It is a BYOB establishment, luckily there is a wine and spirits store next door. My family will definitely be returning to this beautiful gem in the heart of Somerville!“

“We visited the New Brunswick, NJ location on March 11,2025 around 8:30pm and must say we are extremely disappointed with the service. Here’s our saga: we ordered chicken Kakab platter in person and asked the person behind the counter to put the olives, turnips and pickle on the side. It was shocking to hear that the guy told me that I have to pay extra. I told him again I am not asking for anything extra but just that I need my olives, pickand turnip which is on top to Be put in the side he reiterated and said that it will be an extra charge. The manager had put in a new policy in place. Is there any checks and balances in place to control this nonsense This is so bizarre….let me ask you this …. If I go to a burger joint and ask them for fries in a separate plate (again not extra) would they ask me for more money? What’s going on Mamouns? Not expecting from you guys…. Utter disgrace…. We have been your patrons since last 20 years ….. its makes us think twice if we really want to go to Mamouns again. This is totally unacceptable.“

For my main course, I had the chicken souvlaki with lemon potatoes, which was delicious and perfectly seasoned. The accompanying olive bread was the perfect icing on the cake and complemented every dish perfectly. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The service is personalized and relaxed, creating a homely dining experience. They also offer BYOB (Bring Your Own Wine), which is a real plus! “I just got food today at King of Gyro because I had a crave for a gyro and decided to go here. When I ordered my food was needed by a friendly worker and the chef did not disappoint. I got a gyro with fries+soda and it came out to around 13 bucks! The gyro was amazing and filled to the brim with chicken. The fries were crispy but needed a little more salt. Overall amazing food and I’ll be here in the upcoming future. The environment isn’t the the best but it is calm and cleanliness is good!“
