The food amazing (we had a chipotle chicken, a Philly cheesesteak, and a pulled pork empanada; in addition yellow rice and black bean and a cherry empanada for desert). Would recommend this restaurant 100%. Open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday it’s truly a treat for the tastebuds.“

“Excited to eat at Mi Familia Restaurant. The food is Authentic and flavorful! I've been coming here for so many years. As you walk in your are greeted immediately, the staff are very attentive. I was there last week ordered white rice with beans oxtail and barbeque pork spare ribs. Food was delicious!!! Not to mention this is where I get my churrasco (skirt steak) with tostones and freshly squeeze orange juice. Stop by Mi Familia Restaurant and enjoy some Dominican Soul Food!!“

“The chicharones at this location is absolutely the best around the area. My first time there they made sure I was well taken care of. They even went above and beyond by cooking new pieces of pork for me so that they can be fresh. The pieces of pork was just right with the right amount of meat and fat. Usually places I’ve tried had so much fat that I don’t get to enjoy the chicharones but not this location.“

“Second time ordering lechona from La Victoria. We hosted family visiting from Colombia and they were all very impressed by the portion size, crispy skin, and how delicious it was. La Victoria was very accommodating with a last minute change of plans and was very helpful and generous with preparation suggestions and follow up. We will certainly be ordering from them again. “Don Pepe never disappoints! Their food is absolutely amazing, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality and service you receive. I ordered a calamari to go, and the bartender (a super friendly guy) was fantastic. He was incredibly nice and even threw in a huge piece of bread—easily 10 inches long! Definitely enough for leftovers, which was a nice surprise. The little details like this make the experience even better. I’ll definitely be back!“

We went on a February weekday (Wednesday Lunch time) and the place was clean, well decorated for Valentine's. There was a good crowd and I can see that the staff were all busy doing something work related. Our waiter was attentive and although his English was limited , he still made an attempt. The food was good- Bandeja de Paisa never disappoints. I like how this dish is consistent whether I eat it at their Hackensack location or Englewood location. For the first time I tried their calamari. It was good and I like the sweet chili sauce (an homage to my Asian routes haha). Overall a good place to eat!“

“It actually met my food expectations and when I entered it made me feel at home, especially because of my Chapina people at heart. The only thing I didn't like and this goes to the owner, we ordered some chuchitos and with a plastic fork, the soft drinks in plastic and with a plastic straw, please compatriots, let's cut down on plastic, we are not comfortable and even less lazy, let's help the planet and Reduce plastic, it helps the restaurant look a little taller and more sustainable.“

“When we lived nearby, my family and I would frequently visit this eatery. We now make an effort to visit this restaurant at least once when we are all in New Jersey. The cuisine is classic Dominican goodness. I love the stew chicken, roast chicken, ribs, chicken and pigeon peas and red beans. All are delicious. My Mom loves the octopus salad.“

“The food here is amazing and the price is decent. My favorite is the soup and the fried fish. There is not much parking outside because it’s on the avenue. There is space to eat inside for a small group of 4. The service in taking orders could be better, sometimes the server takes long to get the food out to customers even if you called ahead of time.“

“I come to this spot at least once a week. I wish more people knew about this place. It’s such a hidden gem and the food is amazing. I recently got obsessed with Poké bowls out of nowhere and was looking for a place in New Jersey that did them and I found this one Rutherford. The owner is super nice and hands-on and is always trying to make that atmosphere feel super welcoming. They also have some really cool snack snacks and drink drinks here other than the Poké bowls definitely would recommend.“
