“Ambiance: very loud and the band was extremely loud on the other side of the restaurant so as to drown conversation in the dining room and make patrons talk even louder! I opened with French Onion soup. The soup itself was delicious but the melted cheese was so think it was chewy and inedible. I also had Seafood Fra Diablo. Very good but too few scallops and shrimp for the $$ paid. Took so long to get our drinks that we were finished our appetizers before we asked the waiter where the drinks were!“

We went on a Wednesday, so we got to experience the Cacio e Pepe (cheese wheel), but there's plenty of entrees to enjoy. Portion sizes are pretty good and we felt all the plates were well worth the price.The space is small and a little tight, but it didn't take anything away from the experience. We were politely greeted by the hostess who arranged tables to accommodate our large party. While being seated, the owner, Aaron asked us if we were celebrating a birthday. We said yes, it's our daughter's birthday. Much to our surprise, Aaron came back 15 minutes later with a beautiful birthday cake for our daughter. “Just like Nona’s kitchen. The Scipelle soup is incredibly delicious. Perfect. This menu item, which is a very rare find, is a cherished dish here and Fiene’s rendition is the definitive preparation. I’ve been coming here for years to reconnect with my family roots through this soup and the recipe has not changed.You will not find better. Period.A major hit menu item was the Zuppa Inglese. This is not an Italian specialty dessert many may recognize. I’ve NEVER seen this on a menu before and I’m so glad I spotted it on the Holiday menu. Zuppa Inglese is an Italian Trifle dessert, similar in assembly to Tiramisu (which is also a menu star here). I hadn’t had this dish since the family holiday dinners of my youth. Curious how this found its way onto the menu I was informed that a matriarchal family member made this to order in advance at a the request of a good customer. Time consuming to prepare several of these were made and I was the beneficiary of a most wonderful accommodation.The folks at Fiene’s are family. They are “family” to the restaurant and to their guests as everyone here takes an ownership attitude. You will eat well. You will be treated well, like valued family members.I cannot say enough about the satisfaction of a Fiene’s experience.“

I asked if it was regularly on the menu, and was told no, but the ingredients for the bacon wrapped scallops are always on the menu, so it could be made to order. My husband had the staple, Chicken Parmesan, which he said was very good and tender. We will definitely be going back for dinner, and not only for lunch. My meals have been usually good to great with the exception of my last visit when I got Chicken Maximo serve with old ruddy small asparagus pieces and a watery tomatoe based sauce.
