“I took my girlfriend here for our anniversary and we had a great experience. The ambience was nice, the staff was friendly, our waitress was attentive and the food was good. The manager Timothy Fisher stopped by our table twice to check on us and as we were on our way out, he ran up the stairs to hand us my girlfriend's purse which was left at our table. “Wow! Great restaurant, small and intimate atmosphere, delicious food and super nice staff. We had the focaccia with meatballs and the polenta fritters for start, followed by the lumache and the dirty martini pork chop. For desert the chocolate tart is mind blowing. Chef James went around during the dinner and is a top-notch guy, very friendly. Will be back many times for sure.“

“My family had dinner at Albertinos today for my mom and husbands birthday. Because there was 9 of us they require a fix price meal for each person. This price includes an app, main, and dessert - anything on the menu. The service here is outstanding. The food is better than anywhere else in town, and for me- the best Italian I have ever had. Dinner for 9 of us took about three hours. To me, this is amazing. There was no rush. They made sure everything was perfect. We were able to relax and enjoy our time. We have been there two other times and have had the same waitress. The daughter of the owner (Jsut another plus). She is bubbly and kind and makes sure everyone has a great time. “Thank heavens for Colonial Beach Local Foodie’s referral. Meet a gentleman at Thousand Trails resort just outside of Colonial Beach Va. that had a thick Upstate NY accent. We preceded to reminisce about family in Upstate NY,, of course food rolled into the conversation,. That’s how I came across Nonna Lena’s Italian Cuisine. I stopped by the restaurant by myself a couple of later.. Thought I’d get a quick lunch fix. Wrong! My eyes nearly popped out of my head when I the chief my plate of Eggplant Parmesan. What a wonderful freshly made dinner (plus leftovers for 2 extra meals). The staff all were very friendly. Chiefly came out to see how I liked my meal. He shared some details about the newly open restaurant & homemade recipes, etc. He mentioned breakfast was also served and somehow in the conversation he decided to send me home with a sample of sausages & gravy along with my husbands meal. OMGoodness, the next day my breakfast was fantastic. Foodie’s note. Their food is prepared fresh from scratch daily😊. Don’t past by Colonial Beach Va. without dinning at Nonna Lena’s Italian several times.“

“We went to Haddonfield for lunch this week, and the restaurant we were intending to visit had closed outside of their normal hours. We ended up going to Umile, and it was a great surprise.
The restaurant is located on the ground floor of a residential building with an intimate seating area. The kitchen is right in the same room, so you can hear the orders being called out.

We started with the fried mozzarella and arancini. Both were excellent; the arancini had a great meat sauce, and the fried mozzarella featured sweet peppers in the sauce which was a wonderful touch.

For the entrees, we split a 12” “Bianca” pizza and the Wildfeather Paccheri Alla Vodka. The pizza was crisp with a good crust, and the fresh garlic was great. The paccheri was delicious, featuring a flavorful sauce with ribboned pepperoni, shallots, and chili flakes for a bit of a kick.

Overall, it was a wonderful meal. Our server was pleasant and attentive. Just note that they do not serve alcohol, but they do have a small drink selection.

We will definitely be back next time we’re in Haddonfield!“

“I am lucky to have heard of Scampi from the wonderful queen village residents and south Philly and beyond. As someone that doesn’t include Italian food in their top favorite cuisines, Scampi has me in a chokehold. Chef Liz highlights the various regions of Italy in her monthly prefix menus. The amount of love and care in the cuisine speaks for itself in the gorgeously presented and equally as tasty food; attentive service from the main server Avy; and chef talking points throughout the service. Her prefix menus change sometimes based on the vision and region and her chef mind is exceptional so you’ll definitely be surprised and content when she whips up phenomenal lesser known Italian dishes with a splash of Asian fusion. Aren’t we tired of penne alla vodka in Philly?? Here you may have a swordfish cutlet, gnudi, stuffed mussels, testaroli, patis flavored shrimp, country fried steak, tiramisu calamansi tarts, and ube cake; the creativity is endless. You also may be impressed with the seemingly simple focaccia that is served with some pastas, it’s soft and salty and delightful. When a chef can do savory, pastas, pastry, and baked goods… I'm locked in for good.
My recent visit on an a la carte Wednesday featured classic pastas, unique fishy salads, and an incredible (one of my favorites) smash burger. Avy gave us wonderful service and is extremely passionate about the food and making sure we enjoy ourselves. I don’t think there’s anything chef Liz and the sous chef Bry can’t do. Everyrhing on the menu is made from scratch and you can taste the freshness of everything in a dish. I enjoyed the chicken marsala. And the desserts are also homemade and change. I got the cannoli and my husband got the tiramisu, you could taste the wine that was put into the cream and it was delicious. The only thing about the atmosphere is a little bit of echoing from the layout of the restaurant which made it a little hard to hear our waiter at times.“
