“We travel all the way from NY to this open buffet. The food is wonderful for the price and the waitresses are friendly. Lately, they have used a new policy where tips are automatically added to the bill. I assume leaving tips to the courtesy of customers proved ineffective, and I respect their decision since the waitresses are working nonstop and need to survive like all of us. I'm not sure the percentage of the tips added. I think 15%, but don't take my word for it and call them to make sure if it makes a difference for you. The area is very busy so it might take a while to find parking. There is an option of taking out food, and they they charge by the pound depending on what type of food you are taking.“

“Super cheap buffet with honestly average food. The crabs clams and shrimp were quite small.Anything not popular will often be left out cold and hard. Learned that the hard way with dumplings.You need to be fast as people will take your seat the moment you look like you're ready to leave.All of the food comes out particularly fast. Honestly it's an alright place if you don't really care about what you're eating, you just want to eat and leave.This is like the fast food of buffets.“

“Tasty fresh and affordable.- They have salad bar (not self service) where you can get a large salad with chicken, cheese (including fresh mozzarella!) and 3 other toppings for ~$11 (take that, sweetgreen!). The salad bar guy was really friendly and will ask you about exact portions for dressing etc.- They also have a hot and cold bar with other stuff that wasn’t fancy but looked good (including some fish)“

“Soldiers is getting bad, I'm not sure if they changed the chef but I waited all week to get the stew peas and rice which had no seasoning, none, not even salt and pepper in when I call to inform the Of this error they had attitude think I was going to move my car and come back for a refund (which is what they hope for) 2nd Saturday morning 9am I buy food because I don't want stale food 2nd time the fried dumpling are drenched in cold oil and and then breakfast cold Not sure what you want to do but but uncooked hard meat is killing black folks and not listening isnt working neither.“

The bread was toasted so it had a nice crunch to it. Tostones were not that great but they get a 5 for the chimi and service.“

Although there are places like Brownies Cafe which serve fantastic sandwiches or the food trucks along Broadway, Ferris is an undergrad staple (esp since you can take food out on the disposable plates and take cups, bananas, and other things on the dl). “Great food and plenty of variety. They have an awesome buffet that changes from breakfast to lunch. Their are made to order options as well. It's a little pricey, but you are in Manhattan. Our group ate here the entire weekend we were here. They also have bakery items. To go or sit down option. I would definitely recommend if you are staying in the Time Square area.“
