“We ordered a large sample of their food: samosa chat, onion naan, Chana saag, lamb Rogan josh, yellow lentils, aloo gobi and raita. All of it was delicious, well spiced, the portions were large, and they gave us rice for every dish. It was enough food to feed four people for two nights with leftovers. My favorite was the lentils. Great place.“

“We had booked Veda for our daughter's wedding welcome dinner on 5/3/24. The whole process from the time we contacted them till we had our function was smooth. They were very accommodating to our requirements and went beyond our expectations. If you are looking to have a large gathering I will definitely recommend doing a buyout. We decided on the menu and then we were guests at our own dinner. It is full service. The ambience was good and our guests enjoyed both the food and their awesome selection of cocktails. Gaurav Bhardwaj and Brazil provided excellent service. Did I mention Food? Very Good and Flavorful. We are from Delhi and big foodies, and I must tell you that they superseded our expectations. The décor is very pleasant and we didn't need to do anything additional They provided us two stations for our henna ladies. Our function was a big hit. Check them out for your next baby shower, engagement, birthday function!!!!!“

“Quite a homely experience at this place for me and my wife! We were in the vicinity and suddenly wife was craving Chicken Biryani! We searched up places near us serving Chicken Biryani and found this and we were so glad the taste buds weren’t disappointed! The spice levels were perfect and the taste was exquisite!“

“We’ve been coming here for years. The menu has changed, but the quality has not! From chaat, to lassi, to their desserts… we recommend all of it. One of our favorite places, and we can use uBerEats now so it’s even more convenient!“

“Saffron offers excellent lunch menu deals. For $10-12, you get a lunch portion meal (Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Saag, etc.) with rice, salad, and a daily accompaniment. Chicken Tikka Masala was delicious, but a little sweet for me. The Lamb Saag was also a little fatty, but very flavorful. Granted this was a takeout order during COVID. We typically prefer dining in to review a restaurant.“

“Today, July 4, was my first time dining in at Ekta. My older parents and I were looking for a place to eat (and having a tough time finding one!); finally we saw that Ekta was open, though we then discovered that it was due to close in 40 minutes. I am deeply grateful to our server, Owen, for never making us feel like we were inconveniencing the staff by arriving so close to closing, and for going out of his way to help my mom (who has limited mobility) to navigate the steps both when we arrived and when we left. He situated us at a table just next to the door, which was even more helpful. As for the food itself, my dad was delighted with his garlic kabob, and I really enjoyed the Chandrakala (first time I'd ever encountered these dried-fruit-and-coconut dumplings) and our bread selections (Lachha Paratha and Ekta Naan, the latter kind of an adaptation of the Peshawari Naan concept but with black sesame seeds included). My mom and I both guzzled our delicious lassis (mango and pomegranate). Though toned down at our request, the Alu Gobi was still a bit spicy for me, but tasty nonetheless.“

“Food was amazing but it was a bit pricey. I was craving some traditional halal Indian cuisine and I was hearing great things about this place so I strolled around the corner to see what the hype was about. I got the curry goat, jasmine rice and salad and I was very impressed with the quality and taste.“

“I am in town from Utah, and I had three nights to eat out, explore the food scene, and try different restaurants. I’m usually really good about trying famous foods from the region when I travel.
The first night, I tried Spicy Masala not because I was really craving Indian food. In fact, the only reason, I chose Spicy Masala was because it was still open when I got into town, it was close to where I was staying, and mainly bc the Chinese place I originally wanted to go is next door but only accepts Venmo.
But yall, stumbling upon Spicy Masala ended up being one of my absolute favorite things that happened to me all trip!!!
The first night, I got the Mango Chicken. It sounded benign and safe to try as someone who likes Indian food, but is also a complete baby when it comes to spice.
It was SO GOOD. It had chunks of mango and cubed chicken with a creamy sauce that made for a PERFECT sweet and savory combo. I was ENCHANTED.
I thought about that mango chicken dish so much the next day that I went back that very same night. I got the Butter Chicken dish that time, just to change it up a little bit… it was DELICIOUS.
Tonight was my last night in Philadelphia. All day I was so convinced I wanted a Philly Cheese Steak. I had talked about it to my friends and family that “damn it, that sounds gross, but I’m gonna try it while I’m here.”
But again, all day I was just craving more Indian food🤷🏼♀️
It started POURING rain on my journey home from the Met, and I capitulated to give my stomach what it so desired. So tonight I got the Coconut Chicken.
Chicken was moist, the sauce was creamy, and that little hint of coconut… OH BOYY. This was my favorite of the three I tried. I am sitting here in bliss.
I was going to take a picture to post on this review, plus I lowkey wanted to save some for breakfast in the morning since I fly out home early, but I immediately sat down to watch my favorite TV show, told my friend she couldn’t poach any from me tonight, and then proceeded to eat whole tub. :))) I did throw in a picture of some garlic naan (a must try, I’m gonna dream about this naan tonight ya’ll it was so tasty), but I didn’t think get a picture of it fresh!
I also have to ado into this review that the boys working are an absolute hoot. The guy at the front teased me good naturedly for being back so soon, but they were all sweet and were excited that someone could love their food so much enough to come back three nights in a row. They work hustling and working hard to get all the to go orders out, but they were still really kind and took the time to chat with me. It was all extremely endearing.
Anywho, I will definitely be back one day to Philly to come to my new favorite Indian restaurant!“

“I want to thank the owner and staff at the Flavor of India for a wonderful experience using them to cater an event at my church. The owner was very helpful and when I came to pick up the food they had it packaged in a thermal box, on loan, that would keep the food hot for several hours. The food was delicious and the youth thoroughly enjoyed every bite. I also loved the addition of their Papadum. The slight hint of pepper and flavor was so good. Definitely will purchase from Flavor of India again!“

“Found this gem while visiting Philadelphia! It may sound cliche, but we knew we were in the right place when we walked in and there was a full table of people of Indian ethnicity. The food was delicious and authentic. Plus the portion sizes were huge. We will definitely visit here again!“

“Tiffin has been our go-to for Indian delivery for years. They have good specials, the drivers are super, and they seem really to care to know how the food was. And the food is great -- Kerala Pepper is one of our faves, and their chana masala is better than everyone's.“

“I can't write enough good things about cross culture. Food is consistently amazing. Over the last year or two I've been so impressed I'll randomly try new dishes. And I'm so glad I have....I found two of my absolute favorites. The Samoa Chaat is amazing. So is the spicy eggplant and shrimp. And that's not enough touching on my main order! I also highly recommend the Chefs special naan. Lamb korma, chicken cashmere, and paneer masala are staples for us.“

“A hidden gem tucked away on Whitehorse pike in NJ, Mamas Indian kitchen & food mart defies easy categorization.
Authentic family experience they make you part of, some people may not be use to how much they make it like your home and there’s here but every aspect about it is great!
Nothing on the menu will disappoint you
This family-owned establishment seamlessly blends authentic Indian cuisine with the practicality of a convenience store and smoke shop. Don't let the unconventional setup fool you – the food here is exceptional and will be the best food you ever ate!
The family's dedication shines through in their homestyle Indian cooking. Their vegan chana masala and dal are standouts, proving you don't need dairy for rich, satisfying flavors. The samosas are consistently crispy and generously filled. Open from early morning until late night, you can satisfy your cravings or grab essentials practically any time, they have early and late hours.
What makes this place truly special is the warm family atmosphere. Generations work together behind the counter, sharing stories and cooking tips while helping customers navigate both their extensive Indian menu and convenience store offerings.
5/5 stars for bringing together the best of all worlds and doing it with heart.“

“The best Indian street food in University city, if not Philly. Their indo chinese is delicious specially the hakka chow and chili chicken. Small bites like pao bhaji and pani puri are also worth trying. And they have slice and limca and the best milk tea. The servers are very friendly and welcoming. Definitely coming back again.“

“Went on 1/30/23. A very well stock store. Reasonable prices. Friendly and helpful employee. Lots of good frozen selections and lots of spices, herbs, legumes, lentils, sauces in jars and spice packets. We made butter chicken for dinner from a spice packet and it was easy and wonderful 20 min meal. Served with naan and samosas for dinner Their prepared foods were not open yet but it clearly has peaked my interest. Will definitely return often. I wish them well!“
