Halal Restaurants near Woodland Park, NJ

“If you’re looking for **authentic Bangladeshi food** that’s both **delicious and affordable**, *Affan* is the place to go! Located right here in New Jersey, this restaurant delivers an experience that feels like a warm, home-cooked meal — full of rich flavors, comforting spices, and genuine hospitality. We went with our **autistic daughter**, and the experience was truly wonderful. The staff were incredibly kind, patient, and understanding, making sure she felt completely comfortable the entire time. It’s clear that *Affan* is genuinely **autism-friendly**, and we deeply appreciated how calm, welcoming, and sensory-considerate the atmosphere was. Every dish we tried was exceptional — the biryani was fragrant and perfectly spiced, the curries were flavorful without being overwhelming, and the parathas were soft and freshly made. Portions are generous, prices are very reasonable, and the cleanliness of the restaurant is impressive. You can really tell that they care about both their food and their guests. Whether you’re Bangladeshi and missing home-cooked flavors or just love discovering new cuisines, *Affan* will exceed your expectations. It’s rare to find a restaurant that combines **authentic taste, affordability, cleanliness, and inclusivity** so beautifully. Highly recommend — we’ll definitely be back“

“Great food, friendly service and comfortable ambiance. We highly recommend this restaurant.“

“So I just had iftaar with their tikka paratha roll that I had got last Sunday evening. It just tasted so good even though I ate it cold straight from the fridge. 😊 It didn't taste as good when I had ordered it on site. Then, without me even asking for anything, they remade it and gave it to me to take it home with me even though I had told them I was full. 😊😊 The largest portions I have ever seen anywhere, good food, clean, best interior and decor, excellent service. I have yet to see a BETTER or even equally nice place in NYC. 🤍 Jo baat hay. Food makes/breaks the mood.“

“Best gyro I’ve ever had hands down! The lentil soup is also fantastic. Highly recommended for takeout! (You can eat there but it’s small)“

“Great food, all tasted fresh and didn't disappoint..we ordered the dinner for 2 that included 4 choices of cold starters and calamari that melts in your mouth and the salad was so good and the mix kebab and koftas over rice was good too..will definitely recommend and we shall be back! 😋“

“We got food from them the other day and everyone in my family loved it. We ordered margarita pizza and my kids said it was the best they ever had. The baked manicotti was really good. The broccoli and cheese calzone was amazing, especially when dipped into the sauce. The Mac and cheese balls were delicious. The fries for me were a little too salty, but everyone else said they tasted really good. Can’t wait to be in their area again so we can order more food from them.“

“I’m visiting NJ (lived here for a long time) and wanted to eat some of my favorite foods. I ordered dinner from port of peri peri and it was perfectly cooked but missing my fries. I let that be known to the restaurant and received a small refund. Next night, I ordered dinner again and I received a large order of fries on the house as well as a discount card for 5% for dine in orders valid for one more week. Amazing customer service. If I were in NJ longer, I would surely order again! The food is absolutely delicious 😋“

“I got the sliders and tenders, and they were cooked to absolute perfection—juicy on the inside, perfectly crispy on the outside, and packed with flavor. The spice levels are incredibly accurate, and that Dave's sauce is pure gold. On top of the amazing food, the service was fast and the staff was super friendly.“

“The Turkish food here is of high quality. We had the mixed platter of cold appetizers and the mixed meat entree. So yummy! The host and waiters were very welcoming and efficient. When they made a mistake and forgot a side we ordered, they still brought it late and did not charge us. Then they brought us tea and baklava on the house. They want you to leave happy. The sign of a well-run business. We’ll be back for sure.“

“This place has the best shawarma in all New Jersey, the sauces are amazing, the food is incredible, the workers are the kindest people! My husbands first time eating shawarma and he loved it! He keeps asking me to go eat there all the time! You need to go early because their shawarmas flies, they sell like just baked bread!“

“Okay people one dish i had was so good first time trying fried liver, 😵 and let me tell you it was so good 👍 very happy the waiter told me to try it. And I recommend everyone to try it.
I also had lamb dish that was very fresh and tasty 😋 along with Turkish beer 🍺 sitting in the back for the skyline view makes for great dinning experience.

“I went to their Grand opening today!!! The food is fresh and tastes delicious!!! Can’t wait to go back, friendly owners, great location and late hours! What more can one ask for!!!!“

“Bence bolgenin en iyisi, yemekler çok lezzetli, hiç bir şey baştan salma değil. Çakışanlar Cok saygılı. Amerika’da gittiğim en iyi restaurant diyebilirim ve iyi bir Türk yemeği yemek isteyenlere tavsiye ederim. Adana kebap, lahmacun ve kuş başı pidesi ni denedim ve bayildim. İnşallah diğerleri gibi bozmadan devam ederler.“

“I was introduced to this place about 6 years ago and I continue to still go to this place whenever I am craving a good gyro! I have moved and still continue to only go here and buy gyros! I ate there recently with my best friend (something I never do is eat there) so when I ate there the staff was very welcoming and friendly and even asked about the service to make sure it was perfect for us! I don’t really like gyros from anywhere else there’s has a special touch! I hope everyone can experience it!“

“Best mix platers in town“

“Thanks a lot for everything. Great pricing and phenomenal customer service. I don't know how they have this many great products but I don't mind for me the more the better so I dont have to go to any other market but Anatolia Market“

“This place is a gem!! a must eat!! We found it through Uber Eats and ordered 1x. It was so good. The portions were amazing. Portions are like something grandma would serve her hungry kids. We visited and now I frequent it almost daily! Homefries platter is not for the faint of heart. You've got to have a hearty appetite or share it out. Grits platter...well...something of a southern treasure! Beef bacon egg and cheese sandwich is always a perfect on the run, goodie! We tried the shrimp over rice and that was nice. Chicken over rice was even better as it had a slight kick to it. And again, no matter what you order, bring a healthy appetite cause you're gonna need it and a long nap, after! These guys are amazing!! Truly! They're sweet! They're efficient! They can throw down on that gril!! Yummmmm Oh...and if you've never had it, their lemon ginger drink is amazeballs!! This place really is a gem in the middle of a jungle 😆 Visit them and be kind! Far too many ppl are not kind or feel entitled to speak to them ill mannered. Please don't! These guys really are good people and their food speaks for itself. Thank you gentlemen for always providing the best!!“

“Best restaurant in NJ. Always fresh tasty and delicious food. A must try!“

“GERMAN DONER KEBAB - AN ENLIGHTENMENT If you're from Berlin, it feels like there's a kebab store on every other corner. So I can recognize and judge a kebab when I see it. Even just leaving Berlin and Brandenburg, the kebab experience changes within Germany. The further you get away from Berlin, the worse the kebabs get. Some time ago in New York, I discovered one or two places trying to make a kebab. Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to find a proper kebab in New York, despite the name kebab. What was being sold was called a kebab, but had very little to do with a kebab and tasted even less like a kebab. All the more enlightenment then... the recommendation of a friend living in Brooklyn. "German Doner Kebab" in Brooklyn. And then the first kebab there since 2018 here in New York. I can't even describe how happy I was. It looked like a kebab, it tasted like a kebab and came pretty close to a kebab from Berlin. Really well made. Incl. tax 12.51 dollars is a bit steep, but still good value for New York. The portion was good and filling. Everything is really fresh and well seasoned. The bread was just as it should be, thin and crispy. This was pretty much the best kebab I've had in a very, very long time (with the exception of one visit to Berlin). I will definitely go back there again. Bisher konnte ich leider in New York trotz Bezeichnung Döner keinen ordentlichen Döner entdecken. Das was da verkauft wurde, heißt zwar Döner, hatte mit Döner aber recht wenig zu tun und schmeckte noch viel weniger nach einem Döner. Um so mehr dann die Erleuchtung... die Empfehlung eines Freundes in Brooklyn lebend. "German Doner Kebab" in Brooklyn. -------------------------------------------------“

“nice place, delicious 😋 food, quality was excellent also it was a friendly experience I really recommend it“
