Not only did he have a fun personality but he also helped sing happy birthday to my mom, which made her night 100%. “This wonderful and spectacularly located restaurant was recommended to me by numerous people who are familiar with the St. John's dining scene. The coffee on offer was a standard drip blend, but given this is not a coffee focussed café, It was robust and delicious.

The location of this café affords a spectacular view of St. John's, signal Hill, and out towards Cape Spear. The service was attentive, informative, and extremely friendly. My entree of fish cakes was beautifully presented and perfectly spiced.

“Very cute spot that feels plucked right out of the 1990s. Glad to see that this kinda place can still survive in today’s climate even if only by nostalgia. The service was friendly and the food was solid for what it was, classic pub food with a bit of a Tex-Mex twist. “The Embassy is my favourite spot in St. John’s. Staff are always so friendly. They have the biggest selection of local craft beer.“

“Had the Batter's Box. It came to $29 with a drink. It included 6 pieces of chicken, taters or fries, 2 biscuits and gravy. It wasn't anything to write home about. Could barely taste any seasoning on the chicken or taters and if you don't like dark meat it's a total waste of money. There was only one white piece. The rest was wings and thighs and 1 leg. I can't comment on the biscuit as I never even bothered to try it. ?“

“Overall, we really enjoyed our experience. We had the onion rings and calamari to start. Both were excellent. Both of us had the halibut as our main course. It was a generous portion of fish. The sauce and accompaniments were very tasty. We found the staff very attentive. The other couple we were with seem to really enjoy their food as well with the exception that one of the people ordered the beef tenderloin medium and it was at most medium rare in the centre definitely rare. I would suggest that if you were ordering the beef, you order it no more than medium rare because it is a thick cut.“

“Kelly's Pub on George is exceptional. Kelly’s Pub on George. Tonight my husband and I stepped out for a bite to eat to celebrate our 36 year anniversary. We stopped by Kelly’s and enjoyed the pan fried cod with baked potatoe and scrunchions. It was beyond delicious. We finished our meal with their homemade berry cheesecake. It was phenomenal.
