“Oliver’s Restaurant has quickly become my new favorite place to eat. The food is delicious, love the cozy atmosphere, and service is top notch. We have dined there a few times in the last couple months and each time we’ve had the same server, Robyn. She is knowledgeable, her service is prompt, and she really goes the extra mile. Last night the restaurant squeezed us in at a last minute request and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend!!“

“Had a couple nights at the Embassy while in St.John’s. Great spot!! Staff was awesome and friendly, while somewhat “saucy” (Joe and Tracy)! 😂 Locals were fun and made me feel like part of the group (Ally, Chris & Jeff, who talks too much)!! Local talent was awesome and can definitely sing and play to keep everyone entertained!! I will be back!!“

“This is a pleasant restaurant if you want something to eat when you're visiting the museum.

There wasn't a big selection of items on the menu but what they served was good. I had the seafood chowder which was really good. My wife had the bratwurst which she found a bit too gamey for her but I thought it was fine.

If you can get a table near the windows you'll be rewarded with some lovely views down over St. John's.“

“Daniel (Bar Manager?) made our visit. We couldn’t get our computer to hook up to the TV in the pool room that is a vault. To save our family’s wedding presentation he gave us his computer to use for most of the night. And he refused a tip! This man was so committed to our experience. An absolute legend. The food was amazing too.“

“It’s a nice restaurant overall! The spinach dip was great! My husband enjoyed his burger. I ordered the crispy Thai chili chicken wrap and unfortunately the hot chicken was not crispy and made everything in the wrap hot, especially the lettuce. It was also very watery- not sure if that was the sauce? Sangria was excellent and so was our server! Very sweet and attentive.“

“We had a great experience at Jack Astor’s in St. John’s, but what truly made our visit exceptional was our waitress, Brook.I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever experienced service quite like hers. Brook was incredibly kind, attentive, knowledgeable, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. She had that rare ability to always seem present and attentive without ever making the service feel rushed or intrusive. She anticipated what we needed, checked in at exactly the right moments, and made us feel genuinely cared for throughout the entire meal.What stood out most, though, was her warmth. Brook has a presence that makes you feel comfortable and welcome almost immediately. You can tell she genuinely cares about the people she is serving, and that kindness came through in every interaction we had with her. Exceptional service is one thing, but combining that level of professionalism and knowledge with such a genuine, warm personality is something else entirely.The food and atmosphere were great, but Brook is what we will remember most about our experience. She is an incredible representative of Jack Astor’s and deserves to be recognized for the level of service she provides. “By far the best meal we've had here in St Johns. You will want to lick the plate clean. Glad we got a chance to try it. We had the Duck Nachos, fish stew and the baked halibut with coconut curry sauce. Everything was spot on! Make sure you check it out while you are here in St Johns“
