Smothered breakfast burritos use to be our favorite but in past few months it's almost all potatoes a crumb of bacon if your lucky didn't see any eggs either I figured months ago they just forgot to put bacon and eggs in it so I have tried it a few more times and including yesterday morning and guess what it was all potatoes mostly and there not so cheap,what happened? Different cook? Different management? Not sure
This place serves some of the best genuine New Mexican food in all of NM. Red and green chile, sopapillas, burritos and some really amazing recipes can be eaten here. Not too hard to find, plenty of parking and great service. If you're passing thru Espanola, you must stop in and eat at La Cocina. I do highly recommend..

Nailed it! The carne adovada at La Cocina in Española is as good as any that I have had in New Mexico. It is brick red, with a strong chile flavor without bitterness. The pork is very tender without being mushy and full of pork flavor. The was a very mild heat level, and I prefer hotter, although the flavor did not suffer much from the lack of heat.
