Genaro's Cafe | Mexican is a busy neighborhood restaurant in Gallup, NM, serving real New Mexican food. The place is packed with locals, and the food is delicious with huge portions. The staff is super friendly, and the waitstaff really work hard. One reviewer had perhaps the best server ever, who offered sample after sample before ordering. The food is brought hot, tasty, and fast. The red pozole with a sopapilla is described as unreal and 10/10. Another reviewer gets the menudo with red, which comes with Mexican oregano and diced onions on the side, and a choice of tortilla or sopapilla. The bowls are served full. Sometimes the restaurant can get cold inside, which also makes the hot food cold. The staff are ok, and the food is worth it despite a small dining area. Everything ordered has been so good, and the service and food are outstanding. You will not be disappointed.
