“Lovely evening starting with the welcoming host and atmosphere. Beautiful tables, server brought bread and drinks right away. Had the delicious potato skins appetizer, chicken Alfredo, calzone, and chocolate mousse. Chef came to check on us, very nice and genuine! We are already planning our next visit!”

“The service was amazing. We had a last-minute addition to our party and Jose managed to reseat us without difficulty. Very nice sake and cocktail list. Togarashi edamame was a bit dry, I've had it elsewhere and it's sautéed in a bit of oil to add moisture. Also I was looking forward to trying the Santa Fe roll but I couldn't even taste the tempura green chili in it. There was no heat at all, so that was disappointing. The baked salmon roll arrives in flames so that's fun for the table.”

“Great food great music great atmosphere great custard and they usually have fish around Lent so the manager always takes into consideration people's needs for an alternative even though his restaurant is a burger joint. Everything's always clean and the staff is usually really nice except for the little Asian lady who is usually always really rude and no one likes her. You can tell even some of the employees don't like her anytime she's in the restaurant. But the older gentleman with the beautiful gray hair is always got a smile on his face and he's incredible to be around when you go into order your food. I believe he's the owner and he does a fantastic job. We love stopping in and visiting at least once a month.”

“This place is one of a kind! The food is authentic & delicious - try the carne (pork) adovada! The chef is open to substitutions, which we were very appreciative of. Our server, Nick, did a fantastic job - very attentive and detail-oriented. Love the little gift shop that’s attached to the restaurant. Bathrooms are clean and well-monitored. The historic photos on the wall add so much to ambiance and are very interesting to look at. Can’t say enough good things about our experience- this place is a gem! This will be a must-stop next time we’re in the area.”

“Nailed it! The carne adovada at La Cocina in Española is as good as any that I have had in New Mexico. It is brick red, with a strong chile flavor without bitterness. The pork is very tender without being mushy and full of pork flavor. The was a very mild heat level, and I prefer hotter, although the flavor did not suffer much from the lack of heat. It is served with rice that was wetter than most restaurants, but was acceptable and a good accompaniment to the chile, as were the refried beans and cheddar cheese. The sopapilla was a gigantic triangular pillow, and had a sweet pastry flavor with just the right amount of chew to it. The desserts looked good, but I was too full to eat anything else, so I will save that experience it for next time. Service was great and the restaurant is clean and comfortable with a solid NM vibe.”

“Food was excellent and places was great! Staff was very friendly and personable. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is because though I waiter was nice, after taking our order he never came back to check on us... no one did. We wanted a refill, needed more napkins and another fork and could never get anyone's attention, though our waiter passed by us a few times. Next time we are that way we will stop by again. I'm sure it will be better!”

“Yum! I haven't tried New Mexican regional food before, so I went right to that section on the menu and thought the sopapilla sounded delicious. It was! Piping hot. Just the right amount of cheese to make it gooey without being gross. Tender beef inside. They didn't even bring me a knife -- everything was tender to the fork.”

“Our last stop as we returned to Santa Fe after driving the Turquoise Trail was to have dinner at the Mine Shaft Tavern. This is a historic restaurant & bar that was originally built for the local miners; after the original building burned down, it was rebuilt on this site ca. 1947, and that is the place as you see it today. Our food was excellent, and our server was attentive & friendly. The only negative about the restaurant was that it was REALLY cold; they had just started up the fireplace when we arrived, but all the diners including us had their coats on while they ate. One caveat about the place: one of the reasons we stopped there was that we'd heard there was going to be live music. It turns out that the restaurant and the cantina are two separate spaces, so after we ate, we went next door to the cantina to hear the music. I don't know if we just picked a bad moment, or if the vibe is always like this, but we were absolutely glowered at by some sketchy-looking patrons as soon as we walked in. I'm not going to speculate here about why that might have been, but it made us both uncomfortable enough that we didn't stay. But, as I said before, the restaurant was a completely different experience, and really good.”

“Stopped by here after visiting Ojo Caliente. We were drawn in by the cute logo, atmosphere did not disappoint!! burgers were great and service was quick. the vegetables on the burger was super fresh. onion rings were also really delicious!”

“Delicious quality food, plus they are fast and efficient, I stopped by for a breakfast burrito, the line was out the door, I figured this was an indication the food was good. The burrito was big and had the right ratio of egg, bacon etc, it wasn't all potato like a lot of places. The green chile was hot, which I loved and the customer service was great! The line moved quickly, I also ordered a horchata latte that was amazing, can't wait to go back to try the tacos, and of course the barrio fries. Good Job Barrio Fries!!!”

“Found this gem driving on our way to Santa Fe NM and the food was delicious? I would definitely recommend that if your traveling down hwy 68 in Espanola NM drop on in.”
“El Potrero Trading Post was very interesting to visit. If you're looking for religious items, Rosaries, retablos,button, crosses, amulets you came to the right place. They also have red and green chile powder. and some exceptional Chipotle powder.”
“Travelled here in August 2023, it was our first time in Morocco, quick check in whilst to were allowed to go and get some food. Room We were allocated room 1314, bright clean room with balcony overlooking the pool, cleaned daily with fresh towels and bottled water for the fridge. Pools We did not join in the rush for the pool as it was just too hot at 48 degrees, there were plenty of sunbeds within the trees and gardens which the shade was needed. Restaurants and bars Food was plentiful, breakfast was my favourite with the omelette station. We did go to the culinary restaurant once as allowed, but unfortunately I was unwell on this day so we were unable to make it further than the starter, which was a shame. Staff and entertainment Well what can I say, do many names to mention from Rachid, Muhammed, Ahmed and so many more, pool bar service was great, along with the lovely air conditioned bar, a tip really goes a long was with these guys who totally deserved every penny that we gave, drinks were never empty and they all work extremely hard. Gee was just the best host and so much fun, she certainly got me up dancing! Chloe was also a great asset to medina gardens! Unfortunately I was poorly for a few days during the holiday and still feeling the after effects now, I believe it is a combination of the heat, the travelling and probably ice /water. I would not let this stop me returning, amazing hotel and staff in a beautiful part of the world! Thank you medina gardens....we had a blast, best wishes from vicky and Richard x”

“Love just sitting there looking at the past and all decorations native of new mexico.The food was fantastic, and the service was spot on! Waitress was friendly and attentive to tables. I will return since the atmosphere is so relaxing. Go in relax and prepare to be waited on with a smile instead of someone who just has to be there to earn money. You won't be disappointed.”

“I had the Mac-and-Cheese as I'm "that" kind of girl. It was delicious. I live in the area and my last two experiences of the food were 5* but the service--argh. This time our wait staff was really helpful and took orders timely. I really appreciate this effort. Love the vibe here and actually ate inside near the bar. Very nice. Other three diners loved their veggie burgers and enchiladas--lots of 5* comments. Thanks for ramping up your wait staff. Keep the good food coming.”

“Solid Dennys can't really go wrong with it! Decent food at a decent price. Nothing fancy just solid. My one feedback is that they used to give the milk shake left overs when you ordered one but they didn't.”

“I've been in Espanola for a few months. I have tried a few Spanish restaurants and this one is the best. Very clean, food is great and comes out quickly. You get warm tortilla chips and 3 dips. If you are looking for a family atmosphere and are really hungry this is the place for you.”

“A Santa Fe Classic, go for the fresh guacamole and have fun with the menu. You can cit outside. Before leaving, take a look at the beautiful geological formations in the foreground. For your birthday the waiters Will sing for you in Spanish as you enjoy your complimentary flan while wearing a sombrero.”

“Very good ingredients (I've checked personally which mozzarella they use, which salsa, etcetera), good American pizza. Family friendly place. Extremely courteous and helpful staff. A bit hard to find. I recommend it.”
