New Mexican Restaurants near Rio Rancho, NM

“This morning was my first time...pleased with the food - barbacoa street tacos and sausage breakfast burrito. My husband said the burrito was best ever! Logistics are another matter...I couldn't figure out the on-line ordering. So I called to ask a question - rang 19(!) times and the quality of the call was terrible - broken up and background noise. I called back and was answered at 3 rings. Quality of the call was much better and I ended up ordering by phone. Traffic is AWFUL. There were at least 12 cars in the drive thru..backed up onto eastbound Southern Blvd. I couldn't even pass the cars in line to continue down 26th (which dead-ends). I finally passed the line, went down 26th and turned around, parked and walked across to the walk-up window. Service was quick and friendly. Getting out of 26th again is a hassle - a lot, lot of cars going East on Southern so drivers going West waited forever - I finally was able to turn East on Southern and turned around to go West. PLEASE please figure out a better process! The food is good; it's a hassle to get to it!“

“We drove from Maryland to Las Vegas, Nevada tryin various food spots along the way. We hit back this place on the way back home and it was phenomenal.

Food and service is top tier. Atmosphere is homey and has a great home town family feel. We were seated at a clean table immediately. The menu was easy to read and choose from. The server was happy to explain things and recommend things and the food came out extremely quick.

We let them know about our road trip and told them that their food was the best we have had yet and the staff and other patrons cheered and clapped for us as we departed it was soooo heartwarming and sweet. Definitely recommend checking this place out!“

“We have a new favorite!!! After some of our former favorites decreased in quality, we have been on the lookout for our next spot to get incredible New Mexican food. My husband and I ordered two burrito plates with a side of fries, iced tea and jamaica. It was all fantastic! The customer service was TOP NOTCH and our server even asked what they could improve upon as we checked out. Cannot wait to come back.“

“Seriously the best restaurant we have found in Albuquerque so far. I’m going to be dreaming about the green chile salsa forever now. The service was amazing and friendly. The food was amazing. The green chile burger was delicious. Brisket Burrito with the red and green sauce. 🫶 Get yourself to The Original Cocina Azul. Our only regret is we didn’t go the first night we arrived.“

“We travelled to Albuquerque and wanted to experience the Indian Pueblo Cultire Center. Since we knew there was a dining option, we arrived hungry and I have to say we couldn’t have selected a better meal stop! Mark was our waiter and we each ordered something different in order to sample as many options as possible. The Pueblo taco was delicious. The chef makes the fry bread and it was worth every bite. After our meal we ordered and shared the Pueblo bread pudding which was so delicious I forgot to take a pic til it was essentially gone! The manager kindly brought one out so I could share a picture with you. If you are going to Albuquerque, this is an experience you will not want to miss!“

“Our server, Benjamin was new to his position but went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The bartenders were so great, taking care of an elderly gentleman who left his card at the bar. The bartender also made sure the lighting was corrected when someone made an error as it became dark outside. We will definitely come back to this location!“

“Always a treat to visit Prairie Star. The food is consistently good and the staff always friendly and professional. My only complaint is that this particular night the table of eight gentleman next to us were quite loud, a real departure from the usual warm and inviting atmosphere. Conversation for our group of four was a strain. Still, noisy customers are not the fault of the establishment. And besides ... a little ho-ho-ho at the holiday season never hurt anyone.“

The food quality is outstanding, with generous portions—our favorites are burritos & tacos! The staff provide quick, friendly service, and menu prices are very affordable. When we’re craving a fast meal, Burrito Express on Osuna is our go-to spot!“

“We are on a road trip from Alaska to the south. We stayed the night Bloomfield and we found this gem of a place in Farmington for breakfast the next morning. They did not disappoint. This was the best breakfast that I've had in a long time and ny first time ever having Huevos Rancheros. I also ordered the adovada for the top sauce. For my first experience eating this meal, the explosion of flavors were so incredibly delicious. Im a typical egg, sweet potato and7 blueberries for breakfast kind of person. So this really went off the flavor scale x 10 in my opinion. My husband ordered a sausage omelet and he didn't leave any scraps. He actually finished my plate because the servings were very generous, and I dont stuff myself when I eat. I highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast. The seating is very spacious, the waitstaff are very friendly, and the ambience gives you the feeling of eating with friends and family. You can tell a lot of locals eat here because of the community size tables they accommodate for parties of 6 or more. It was a beautiful and belly full experience“
