“Today we took our grandsons for lunch. It was very busy considering it was March break. We were greeted quickly and seated. Our server Debra was very busy as were the other servers but she did a good job getting our orders. The food was good,clubhouse for us and chicken strips and fries for the boys. They enjoyed the build your own sundaes! Going home the boys remarked how much they liked the place! Hats off to all the staff!“

“When I tell you guys this is the best Swiss Chalet in Nova Scotia, it really is. I believe it’s family owned, with amazing service. Judy is an excellent waitress who is always super friendly and quick! Their food is always perfect, fast, you don’t wait 45 minutes for your food or your bill, it’s never too packed, and in a great area with shopping malls and a superstore. 10/10!!“

“Very good restaurant experience.

Server masterfully struck the balance between checking in on us and letting us enjoy our food very well, and was supremely friendly.

I liked the QR code payment system they put in place. Very good for people with social anxieties.

Seating and table space per person was ample and they had a decent variety of chairs, booths, and hybrid seating options.

Large portions, and priced about the same as other places around the area for breakfast food.

Would highly recommend someone looking for a good breakfast!“

we had awesome meals, maple curry chicken and beef dip and great service.

“This was my first time at The Cannery, Bedford Row in downtown Halifax. I was greeted by friendly staff and my first thought was of the cleanliness of the restaurant and the staff were sharply dressed. The ambiance was chic and it was decorated in classy high end furnishings. I choose a both, yet still had a great view of Halifax harbour. The Braised Short Rib Pappardelle was cooked flawlessly and the sauce was tasty delicious. I look forward to the steak on my next visit. Mixologist Abi is amazing and pours the best tasting cocktails the city has to offer. His drinks please both the eye and the taste buds as he has a few tricks up his sleeve. “I had the Rhina Ribs, fries, gravy and Spinach dip for a starter. The spinach dip was delicious. The ribs were so tender it fell off the bone. Absolutely delicious. I didn't care for the gravy but still enjoyed my food. Service was great and the food came quickly. I love coming to this restaurant.“

“As a person who travels alone a lot, I want to share my experiences about the awesome staff and great food that Le Rouge has to offer. While the menu is small it has something for everyone. Excellent apps , the most delicious steaks, seafood and the best Chocolate Cake. As a returning customer on the first night the Seth waiter /bartender ( recognized me and commented that I was here for my annual show. A year later he remembers my wine choice recommends a the best choice of a steak and of course my dessert taking great care in making sure my allergy to shrimp was never a threat. On my second night, again he recommends the Le Rouge burger that arrives hot and delicious and he tells me that my first choice of nachos contains a fish sauce that might contains shrimp he probably served dozens of customers but still remembered my allergy. I greatly appreciate that the staff was friendly with small talk and checking up me Seth and his new buddy Charbel were awesome to watch as they mixed up a constant array of drinks. With a great atmosphere, delicious food and supreme staff I give Le Rouge a 12 out 10 . I ate at Le Rouge for 6 nights and every meal was awesome 🤩“

The chicken was perfectly cooked—juicy and tender on the inside, with a crispy, flavorful skin that added just the right amount of crunch. The seasoning was spot on, giving the meat a savory and delicious taste without being overpowering.

The fries were equally impressive, hot and crispy, with a satisfying golden-brown exterior. They complemented the chicken well, making for a great overall meal. “We had excellent service on Canada Day 2024 with our friendly waitress Pal. She was very helpful and kept checking on our party of 12 ages from 3 to 80, to make sure everyone had what they wanted. She put treats on the Robot and had the children go get their treats off the tray on it, which was a highlight for them. We could tell she enjoys waitressing because she does it to perfection. The food was delicious and plated appetizingly, too!“

I stopped by Harvey’s Dartmouth (100 Main St.) for lunch and ordered an Angus burger combo through mobile order for takeout, but then decided to dine in. While I was looking around for a tray, Sukhpreet noticed me, even though she was busy, and kindly came over to help. She gave me a tray right away and even checked in to ask how my burger was.

What really stood out was her courtesy — she came back later and offered me the option to choose between apple pie and blueberry pie, which was such a thoughtful touch. Her friendliness and attention made my experience here really positive. Thank you, Sukhpreet, for going above and beyond!“

“Johnny’s Snack Bar is right at the top of my list of favourite places to eat in Halifax. It’s a true North End gem that’s been family run for over 40 years ! You can feel the love in every part of it. The food is consistently perfection, no matter what you order. From old school flat top burgers and breakfasts to daily specials, pork chops, fried chicken, and their incredible pan-fried haddock, everything is done right, every time.

The atmosphere is classic old school diner feel & always busy. Chris and Tasso, along with their sweet and hardworking parents, make you feel welcome the moment you walk in. The service is genuine, the portions are generous, and the prices are more than fair.

Although street parking for Johnny’s has been terribly affected by City installing of bike lanes, you can find parking at the forum.

This place has it all, comfort, value, flavour, and heart. If you haven’t been, go. You’ll understand why it’s such a beloved local spot.“

“Stopped at the Harvey’s in Bayer’s Lake Nova Scotia and it was immaculate, the staff ( Sally especially!) were friendly and efficient and they were pleasant to each other! Equally important: the burgers were perfect. Most of the Harvey’s in my city (Ottawa) could learn a lesson from this location!“

“Had a good time here server was awsome took care of a big party of us. Had the fisherman's breakfast. Fishcakes smothered in an eggs bennidict and hollandaise sauce topped with a slice of bacon each paired with a citrus salad. I'll be honest I would usually take the hash browns with it but went for something different. No disappointment at all. The salad was covered evenly with it's salad dressing and had mandarin and strawberry garnishings.“

You used to be my go to for everything and I keep trying and hoping that things have improved but one week I'll get a large donair and it's a large and tastes good, next week ill order a large donair and get a small burnt one. same thing with donair subs. I just paid $15 for a large donair, it was tiny and the sauce on it taste like milk not at all like donair sauce. Done with spending good money and getting something different every time I won't try again that's for sure.“

“The Lion’s Head is one of my go-to spots in the North End when I want a chill, friendly vibe. The rooftop patio is the real star — perfect for soaking up the sun.

Service is always quick and friendly, even when it’s busy, and having lots of free parking nearby makes it an easy choice. It’s also a great spot for larger groups — plenty of space and a lively atmosphere without feeling cramped.

Food-wise, it’s mostly solid with the occasional standout. The sweet potato fries, burger, salad, mac and cheese, and a chicken wrap with soup I tried once as a feature were all great. The wings were just okay — not bad, but not a must-order for me.

All in all, a fun neighborhood pub with a killer patio, reliable food, and staff who make you feel welcome.“

While shooting an event, my bag was stolen and not only did the event coordinator help me sort things out on the camera, but Mike the bouncer actually FOUND my backpack AND all of my gear (minus bank cards) in a nearby lot!! “Group of work crew got together for a meal and then a Moose game on February 29th and not only enjoyed the food, the layout of the restaurant, but the waiter (Brandon) was amazing and made the whole experience of our first visit the best experience and we'll definitely return.“
