“Had clams and chip, My mom had fish and chips and my husband had Seafood Chowder.
My husband recieved his chowder first. We however had to wait almost 15 more minutes for ours. This has happened twice to us. All your food should be serve to your table all at once. My husband was done his before we even got ours. And I always thought seafood chowder consists of some fish,clams, scallops and lobster. But when my husband received his it had lots of fish a few clams and potatoes.
As for mom and the fish and clams were good but the fries weren't done enough.. our waitress however was very pleasant.”

“I don’t leave too many reviews but wowwwwww. Rebecca’s food was fantastic. In particular, the Caesar salad was one of the best I’ve had in NS, and the coffee cheesecake was OMGawwwwsh delicious. I will go back looking for both of these menu items again. Our server was also delightful, gifting our three year old with a souvenir rock she had hand painted with a lobster which my toddler now proudly displays on her bedside table. Thanks for a lovely lunch. This is a special gem of a restaurant!”

“I love this place and go here all the time! It’s always amazing food and most of the time there is great service. Went in today and this girl named Sheri was very rude to me and my friends. She was full of complaints and sighs whenever we took our orders. We got to go and she kept giving us looks whenever she passed us, and she kept giving us snarky remarks.

On the other hand, Christina was AMAZING! Helped us take our orders, was very pleasant and extremely polite. I love this place but Sheri’s service was so bad I don’t know if I would give them my business anytime soon, and I’ll be leaving if I see Sheri there again.”

“Very nice place to sit, and have a drink. As a non-beer drinker, I was thrilled to see they had Mead on tap - with the opportunity to taste before committing to a glass. This is my first time in NS to see Mead on tap. We also enjoyed the bonus of games at every table to play while enjoying beverages.

“I haven't had a pizza from Big Red's for sometime now. But i guarantee when I do. it will be very good. I live in Dartmouth. There was a pizza place called Mama Mia's pizza in woodside. Tassel owned it. it was the best pizza ever. Plus all the food was great. A pizza from Big Red's come very close to Tassel's pizza. Tassel closed the business and Big Red's is to far to get a pizza on a regular basis. There is no comparison to a pizza from Big Red's. The best.”

“Five stars! The location was quaint and right near the water, on the Main Street. Fresh seafood and EXCELLENT steaks. We started with the 3-cheese fondue (a Yugoslavian recipe) and Caesar salads (with the perfect tang of anchovy). Live music on Fridays created the perfect ambience. This is THE PLACE to go in Mahone Bay. PERFECTION! The Noels from New Orleans. August 2024.”

“Was just into this subway this morning and the person working was AMAZING! They were so friendly and so helpful when deciding what sandwiches etc we wanted. They were so polite and had the best smile the whole time we were there ordering. Subway is subway is subway. The food is the same no matter which one you go to, it’s just the freshness, cleanliness and employees attitudes that differ. I will 100% be back to this subway SOLELY because of this employee! That said, the store was also super clean and the meat, veggies etc were all fresh and looked super good. Very much enjoyed the whole experience. They made my Wednesday morning that much better…and filled my tummy!”

“Excellent food. The owner has just taken over and they don’t have a full menu or full service yet. Time will tell. It was cold in the restaurant but, to be fair, it is off-season and they are just getting started. The food was surprisingly very good. The spring rolls were perfectly cooked and had a light spice to them. You don’t need dipping sauce with them, they are that good. You have a choice between deep fried or pan fried scallops and we chose pan fried. They were perfectly cooked; not over or under done.

I think as they get more experience and get better set up with a full menu, this will be a destination for good seafood and any other food they add to their menu.

I would recommend this place even with the hiccups. You will be pleasantly surprised.”

“Stopped there for a quick coffee n snacks break on our way back to Halifax. Best location, next to Irving gas station and the St James Anglican Church. Team is very welcoming. Enough parking spots.
