Stopped by the harbour for a late lunch on Saturday and the light coming through the windows made for some great shots before the food even arrived. The seared scallops were the standout, perfectly cooked and plated in a way that looked almost too good to photograph and eat. Our server clearly knew the menu inside out and didn't rush us even though we were clearly there snapping pictures of everything. We called ahead to order and asked for the dishes to be made “deconstructed” so we could rebuild the meal after our two hour drive. The server on the phone was so understanding and they went above and beyond and packaged all of the meat separate from the sauces so we could reheat it. They even made our Cantonese fried noodles “build your own” and labeled everything so we could make it as intended fresh and hot at home. Stopped in last Friday evening after a long drive up from Toronto and honestly wasn't expecting much from a spot I'd found on a whim, but 9 + Nine completely caught me off guard. The seared scallops were cooked perfectly, with a crust that actually had some char to it, which you rarely see done right outside of serious kitchens.
