Buka stew is the classic Yoruba stew that has been made popular by local buka (restaurants) joints in western Nigeria the distinctive characteristic of the stew comes from the use of palm oil and open flame cooking it's traditionally prepared with numerous parts of a cow which are deep fried before being added to the stew usually served paired with gbegiri a beans based soup and ewedu a green leafy soup that adds up the special taste and served with amala.

Nice food, but owner could be friendlier. The young woman who serves is very good and has the Canadian customer service style down pat. Was there once and owner did not once look up at us when asking questions about the food and different fish types--it's as if she was annoyed.
