Don't expect a five star restaurant. It is a family restaurant with good tasting food, and like all other restaurants, they were hit hard during Covid, and suffer due to the prices of ingredients.
That said, I almost always order the same dish.

7 of us ate breakfast at Smittys and we all had a great breakfast. Lots of food and the waitress was excellent!!
The staff are wonderful. The atmosphere is unfortunately affected by the dirty, old & uncomfortable seats, and just grimy feeling of everything. The staff are doing a wonderful job in the, 'needing a reno' space. The food is okay but needs a bit of updating. It all feels like better days ahead are needed.
