“In a lovely old ?Victorian house, with excellent cinnamon buns (not too sweet, not too sticky, just right) and great coffee from Frederico's Expresso 46 cafe!”
“Great addition to Lunenburg’s variety of restaurants! Exceptional cocktails and delicious, fresh food. Elevated atmosphere and decor, at least indoors. The staff was incredibly friendly and efficient. Will definitely be back!”
“Very unique business. We enjoyed ciders, appetizers, and coffee the next day all in one location. The staff was wonderful, the atmosphere also. Great views while enjoying adult beverages!”
“This local ice cream shop really hit the spot with tasty flavours, a nice mouth feel, and big portions. I believe we had ice cream several times before we left the town. There are certainly some unique and solid classics. The cream %ge is certainly on the lower end with some ice crystals but smooth enough for great satisfaction.”
“Stopped in for dinner, first time to nova scotia/ lunenburg. The food was fantastic and a nice brake from seafood. Julia was amazing and made the atmosphere that much better. I highly recommend this place.Kid-friendliness: Julia was amazing to deal with”
“Great food from sweet treats, coffees teas to breads and more...frozen foods, meats and cheesesFresh and well worth a visit as when you do... you'll definitely come back..?Russian Black Bread.! And all the breads baked there are Good.!2024- always a treat to visit, for Coffee, excellent treats and meals to a small grocery store with many items available.!!”
“I was honestly unimpressed on my first visit; the pizza balls were incredibly disappointing. I'm glad I gave it a second try though, the Detroit-style pizza is seriously good. This spot has an excellent view of the harbour, modern decor, and friendly staff. There could be more to like on the menu, but it's difficult to tear myself away from the Detroit dishes.Parking: Street parking is hit or miss depending on the season, but that applies to most of Lunenburg.Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible with a wheelchair.”
“We had a salmon teriyaki bowl that was delicious filled with lots of veggies. We also had a recreation of the Big Mac called the Mac Daddy that was awesome and came with the perfect amount of fries.Service, location, and room was all great.Would definitely recommend. We were very grateful that it was open on Easter weekend, which was impressive.”
“We stopped in on Friday of the Easter weekend and it was a great experience. Food was excellent and the person serving us was very friendly. We hope to be back soon! Thank you!”
“The chef that makes you food in this location is by far the one of the best chefs I’ve ever known, and the food that he creates is by far the tastiest. I highly recommend if you’re in the area or travelling through the area this stopping have a look your experience in this location will insurmountably be amazing.”
“I was just in Lunenberg for the day, I stopped by for a quick lunch and coffee. The service was great, quick and friendly. My sausage on a bun had fresh sauteed peppers and onions that were great not overcooked to mush... the decaf coffee was hot and fresh. The carrot cake was nice and moist with just enough icing on it.I definitely will go back on my next trip to Lunenberg!!!”
“Laughing Whale Coffee in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, is a hidden gem! Beyond serving fantastic coffee, this spot exudes coziness, creating a haven for coffee enthusiasts. The welcoming staff adds an extra layer of charm to the experience, making you feel right at home from the moment you step in. The combination of great coffee, a cozy atmosphere, and warm hospitality makes it a must-visit spot in Lunenburg. It’s not just a place for a cup of joe; it’s an inviting space to unwind and savor every sip. ☕✨ #CozyCoffeeSpot #WarmWelcomes”
“I don't get to order from here often, as I don't live in the area, but anytime I'm passing by, I know it's worth stopping in because the food is always great.”
“We, two indecisive weary travellers, stopped in for a quick “snack” ( not a full meal)to tie us over till supper time… the staff here were so kind and helpful, and suggested we split a pulled pork bun. It was an excellent suggestion!! The perfect amount to ebb our hunger for a couple hours - and oohhh sooo tasty!!!! Thanks to the staff for their friendly help!”
“We had the Popeye's spinach and crab dip, and it was amazing, piping hot, rich and savory. I had the Cajun stew entree and it was phenomenal, rich, spicy and hearty. For dessert we had the bread pudding and it was great as well, rum soaked raisins and just the right level of sweetness. I can't remember our server's name ? but she was outstanding all around, positive and helpful. Prices (bearing in mind inflation) were reasonable as well. Yeah, this place is an absolute no-brainer, bring your date here!! Go! Go nowwww...... ?”
“Delicious food and service! No better place to buy an authentic German cake then from the Cake Lady! We have been buying from the Cake Lady for years and will continue to do so!”
“We went to J3 while travelling in late July and I just want to say the food was fab, so was the atmosphere and we absolutely loved the owner. We did a two week east coast tour and ate in many places but nothing topped our experience here! We will be back one day but in the meantime you should all go when in Lunenberg. She was fantastic! 10/10!”
“Of all the Subway stores I have visited this is my favourite, which I know is a funny thing to say, as all Subway franchises are supposed to offer a similar experience. So what makes this place so special? Besides being in the beautiful town of Lunenburg, I love their lobster sandwiches (available during lobster season), the service is friendly, while the view of the Waterfront from the back of the restaurant is lovely.”
“Great quick service. However, what’s up with the no garbage can policy ? Leaving our garbage on the tables (as instructed on your signs) makes no sense for us ?”
“Food & drinks: Breakfast is our favorite time to go. Quality and consistency, same plate of food as the last time you were there. The price point is very manageable if your traveling with larger families.”

“I recently dined at this charming restaurant. Nestled in Rosebay, NS, its rustic decor, and cozy atmosphere immediately made me feel at home. The friendly staff added to the welcoming ambiance, providing excellent service throughout my visit. Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the lobster roll. It was a true culinary masterpiece. The lobster was tender, fresh, and generously portioned. The roll was perfectly toasted, adding a satisfying crunch to each bite. The combination of flavors and textures was simply heavenly. Overall, this restaurant is a hidden gem that offers not only delicious food but also a warm and inviting atmosphere. Whether you're a seafood enthusiast or simply looking for a great dining experience, I highly recommend giving it a try.”
