“We decided to visit the island on a whim today with our kids and didn’t bring enough food, so we started feeling a bit anxious on the ferry. Luckily, as we walked up the hill, the little shop happened to be just opening—perfect timing!

We ordered burgers, fries, and homemade ice tea—and wow, everything was way better than we expected! It wasn’t just because we were hungry; you could really taste the care and heart that Patrick put into preparing the food.

We also got some ice cream, and Patrick even gave a small souvenir to each of our kids. It was such a kind gesture, and the whole experience turned into a beautiful family memory.

Honestly, we might come back to the island just for Patrick’s handmade tea or those amazing burgers. Highly recommend!”

“So getting delivery was tough, because apparently if the owner has the day off - no one else can drive buttt no one told me that - just kept saying call back. I gave up after 5 attempts between 11a-7p on a Thursday 🤷🏻‍♀️ However, the food was worth the wait!! I got the Italian pizza, Cesar salad, and fish and chips. Italian pizza: Great ingredients- just needs more sauce toward the center Cesar salad: Pretty ok. I was disappointed they put the dressing on the salad & not the side, but could be on me for not asking for that? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Fish and Chips: Absolutely the star of the meal. Some of the best fish I’ve ever had and the tartar sauce was on POINT. Must get if you eat here. Overall - 4/5 … easily a 5 with a few adjustments 🙂”

“Salt Shaker is my absolute Favourite restaurant in Nova Scotia! The best atmosphere, people, drinks and the food is INCREDIBLE. The Scallop Linguine is my go to! And they do mussels so perfectly. Their Chocolate Mousse is the best for dessert!!! Whenever we have visitors in town this is the must stop on the list. Highly highly recommend you check them out!”

“My husband and I stopped here tonight and it did NOT disappoint. First, we dropped in around supper time with no reservation and they kindly found a table for us. We both decided on the fish and chips. My husband ordered a beer and I tried the Lighthouse & Wolfville Bubbly Rose NV. It is very good. Our food arrived quickly and the fish was very good, light, not at all greasy and so delicious as were the fries. Everything was nice and hot except for the coleslaw which wasn’t what I was expecting but still very good. The in house tartar sauce was also very good and fresh as you could taste the dill. We couldn’t even find room for dessert as the fish was so large. My husband just finished all his and I was only able to get through half of mine. All in all, I would highly recommend. Beautiful little spot to eat!”

“Very nice place to sit, and have a drink. As a non-beer drinker, I was thrilled to see they had Mead on tap - with the opportunity to taste before committing to a glass. This is my first time in NS to see Mead on tap. We also enjoyed the bonus of games at every table to play while enjoying beverages.

“Fantastic restaurant! Everything is gluten-free, and everything is absolutely delicious. The owner/chef is very talented, and the menu is small but it has something for everyone and it's always divine. We had come of the best pan-seared cod here - simple but somehow it was incredible. This is one of our favourite places in Lunenburg not only for the food but the cocktails are great too. ;)”

“I was just in Lunenberg for the day, I stopped by for a quick lunch and coffee. The service was great, quick and friendly. My sausage on a bun had fresh sauteed peppers and onions that were great not overcooked to mush... the decaf coffee was hot and fresh. The carrot cake was nice and moist with just enough icing on it.I definitely will go back on my next trip to Lunenberg!!!”

“I haven't had a pizza from Big Red's for sometime now. But i guarantee when I do. it will be very good. I live in Dartmouth. There was a pizza place called Mama Mia's pizza in woodside. Tassel owned it. it was the best pizza ever. Plus all the food was great. A pizza from Big Red's come very close to Tassel's pizza. Tassel closed the business and Big Red's is to far to get a pizza on a regular basis. There is no comparison to a pizza from Big Red's. The best.”

“Was just into this subway this morning and the person working was AMAZING! They were so friendly and so helpful when deciding what sandwiches etc we wanted. They were so polite and had the best smile the whole time we were there ordering. Subway is subway is subway. The food is the same no matter which one you go to, it’s just the freshness, cleanliness and employees attitudes that differ. I will 100% be back to this subway SOLELY because of this employee! That said, the store was also super clean and the meat, veggies etc were all fresh and looked super good. Very much enjoyed the whole experience. They made my Wednesday morning that much better…and filled my tummy!”

“We had the absolute best experience yesterday. Courtney, our server went above and beyond for us. We were in Lunenberg for a wedding and the taxis were all booked up. Courtney went and got one of her coworkers Sydney to drive us to the wedding. We can’t wait to come back!! The club sandwich was also the best club sandwich we have ever had!”

“We went to the new Stretch Diner tonight for supper. Here's the scoop. The milkshakes are delicious, we had the chocolate and coffee ones, so good. We had the clubhouse with fries, excellent. The gravy on the side for the fries is a must. Chicken fingers and fries, my son cleaned the basket and he is a picky eater and loved it. I had the fish and chips....best fish and chips I have had in NS. Order extra tarter sauce, I could have drank it. It is homemade and is the perfect combined flavours. The fish batter is crispy, light and not greasy, not a bit of grease on my fingers. We brought home poutine for our other son and it was gone in minutes. The staff were friendly, attentive and made sure everyone was looked after. We will definitely be back, can't wait for the full menu to come out and for breakfast to start! The new owner is very nice too. Well done Todd!”
