“A simple diner with the best breakfast on Lake Tahoe! Filling and delicious options of all kinds on their menu with good coffee they just keep pouring. We don't often revisit a restaurant on vacation (we like to explore new options), but made an exception for The Red Hut. Highly recommend!“

“Absolutely in love with this restaurant! They are incredibly dog-friendly. We were even able to order a special meal for our pup. The menu has drinks named after the staff’s dogs, which we thought was such a fun touch. The whole place has a cozy, treehouse vibe, and the staff couldn’t have been kinder. They took wonderful care of us and even surprised our dog with free treats.
The food was delicious, the service was lightning fast, and despite being busy, they seated our party of five (plus a dog) immediately without a reservation. I’ll be back every time I’m in town!
A few extra notes: parking is limited, but free street parking is available nearby. Plenty of vegetarian options, and you must try their biscuits!! They’re unforgettable. Highly, highly recommend!“

“My husband and I *landed* at The Landing on the last week of May 2025, out of complete happenstance! We started out our honeymoon at The Post Marc Hotel, after seeing 4-5 rooms, each in worse condition than the last, we kindly requested a refund and left. We had no idea what to do, our honeymoon was off to a rocky start, but little did we know The Landing had us covered! We saw they had good reviews and decided to walk inside and see what it was like! We were immediately greeted by incredibly warm and outgoing staff members Charles and Serafina! They listened to our story, empathized with us, and were able to get us an amazing deal on a room! They let us walk around and take a look at it before we purchased which was much appreciated and helped in our decision making! And Charles even made sure we had a complimentary bottle of Chardonnay to “help start the honeymoon out right”, I mean what a sweetheart, so thoughtful and kind! Charles and Serafina truly made MAGIC happen for us and we could not be more grateful to them. They are the reason we had a wonderful honeymoon and we are just so thankful. After getting us situated in a fabulous room with: heated floors, heated toilet seats, jet tub, dual shower, fireplace and patio complete with mountain & lake views, we were told all about, all the perks of staying at The Landing! They have a shuttle that can take you or pick up anywhere in the local area, they had a lovely heated pool and spacious jetted spa, and we were given free beach passes to a private section of the beach! Everything was wonderful! Stephanie & Mel at the front desk checked on us each morning to see how our stay was going! From the quick and attentive housekeeping, to Kevin the wonderful conversationalist bell hop & shuttle driver, to server Aaron’s 5 star room service from Jimmy’s restaurant, even down to the little coffee kiosk in the lobby loving filled with hot chocolates, apple ciders and toppings—everything was perfect!!! And everyone made sure our experience was top notch, the hospitality was unmatched! We had such a nice time that now we won’t stay anywhere else in Tahoe, this is our new go to spot! If you have absolutely any hesitation about booking with The Landing—DON’T! When you’re at The Landing, you are truly in safe hands, with a warm and attentive staff that genuinely cares about your time there. Thank you to everyone at The Landing for providing the most incredible honeymoon experience! We will definitely be back! We were so thrilled with our stay we’re looking at coming back in November 2025 for my birthday! In a word—PHENOMENAL. 15/10“

“Their food never disappoints. My husband would move to Tahoe for the tacos at Freshies alone. We come once a year for our anniversary and it’s a total experience, the food, the view, and the waiters and waitresses are always so nice. It’s an experience!“

“One of a kind of experience. You're so close if not right on the border of Nevada and California and you can sit and eat and look at both sides depending on what side of the building you're on. If you can ski and ski better than average you can get there. If you don't ski take the gondola from the lake below and enjoy the view from the gondola and lunch on the probably your highest point on the mountain...“

“Most of the food is good, but nothing special. It's obvious what foods the cooks actually cook and what they just heat up, with the ones they cook being much better. It hits the spot for some quick food, but for some of the selections there could be some seasoning added. Their marinara said is especially guilty. It's not bad, it's just not good either. It's very watery and has a strong tin and acid taste. Add a bit of sugar to dull the acid and a lot of Italian seasoning to cover up the tin flavor and it would be better. You could also stand to use some Wondra to thicken it a bit, but that's personal preference.“

“Though they advertise that they are open for breakfast (everywhere including on their menus on Google and the QR codes in each of the hotel rooms), you cannot get breakfast here. The sign outside the restaurant says seating is limited, unsure why. Food is a little pricey but if you’re staying there, it’s convenient, and not bad. More veggie options would be great. In general the Holiday Inn David Walley Resort is a shadow of its former self. You get the sense that they are inadequately staffed everywhere you look. The grounds are unkempt, garbage cans were at the max, yet the location against the backdrop is beautiful. On a positive note, all the spas were functioning and clean - and for a spa, that matters.“

“It’s a no for us. We had our wedding reception here at the Tavern and while the food and drinks were amazing, the way we were treated by management was awful. (Serving staff was wonderful!). We started working with Wendy (owner/manager I'm assuming) months before the wedding. She had to make it known from the beginning that she was doing us a favor by letting us come here on a Saturday night. We paid her $680 for a ton of food, that she was trying to say wouldn't be enough for 40ish people (it was, we had leftovers), and everyone bought their own drinks (39 open tabs they got from us that night). All in all, they got a pretty decent chunk of money from us and our group. When my party got to the tavern, they were told we had an hour and a half (this would put us at 6:30pm) before they would be asking us to leave. This was a huge shock, as Wendy never mentioned a time limit for our event. We were always under the impression that we could stay there as long as we want, as long as our party was buying drinks! Later in the night, we were told that we had to leave by 7 because they had another wedding party coming. This was also never mentioned to us during the planning. So they started bussing our tables while people were still sitting down and made everyone close out their tabs and leave the Tavern. Well we ended up hanging out there until 8:30pm and there was no other party that showed up. It was completely empty up until the time that my groom and I left, and they closed at 10pm. Bummer for them that they missed out on all the extra money from that second wedding party. On top of that, the chef came out to me while we were about to start cutting the cake and asked if we would like him to cut it for us. He offered so nicely, we said yes please and thank you and he did a a wonderful job. Then on our way out, they chased us down telling us that we had to pay for the cake cutting that was offered to us. And on top of all of that, they were trying to charge us $100 for "corkage fees", when there were never any bottles opened by us. I didn't get the manager's name that brought us the extra $150 bill for cake cutting and corkage but he was flat rude. After arguing with my husband and I, and asking the waiter how many bottles he saw (zero open), he did take off the over $100 for corkage, as he should have. Our waiter who took care of us all night, Jake, was literally amazing. He had our back that night, he helped us figure out all the mess that the Tavern caused and he got us back to feeling good about our wedding night. Honestly, if we could have invited Jake to the after party, we would have. Oh and Wendy was nowhere to be found during this whole thing. All this to say, don't expect any sort of decent service from management and don't try to have an event here. Management is rude, they act like they don't want you there, and they push business out the door. At least you can have a nice pizza tho.“

“My wife and I love the atmosphere and customer service. We frequent often and we adore Barbara, the Hostess/Greeter. All we ask, regarding the coffee, is that you assess the brand and/or water to ground coffee ratio. No where near the quality of surrounding casino coffees. It tends to keep us away for that reason only, lately. Thank you.“

“I came here just for National Cheeseburger Day cause they offered a Bacon Cheeseburger and fries for $8.99, reg priced around $14.00 so such a deal. I got mine take out. I had to wait a bit for my order even though I showed up at the proper time. paid cash and out the back door I go.
I ate in the car, not my usual choice, but I need to be somewhere, so that's that. The burger was decent sized with a 1/2 pound patty it seemed. The fries were a little small on the portion, but I guess it's what fits in the box.
Overall, a decent burger, for the special price, but NO, I'd pass on it at the reg price. I can get a better burger deal at Chili's. But good for National Cheeseburger Day!“

“Ate breakfast here while staying at Bally’s. They offer a 18.99 brunch special which includes eggs, pancake, French toast, hash browns, fruit, and meat plus a mimosa. This is more than enough for two people. You can get them to split plate it for $5 and it is a ton of food. We were all very full. The chicken fried steak was also super tasty. Would highly recommend for a breakfast.“

“This was lovely! We had the 2 for $27 deal, so you could choose an appetiser and then 2 entrées. There were a few you could upgrade and pay more for, but we were happy with the basic ones. We got the spinach and artichoke dip to start and oh my goodness it exceeded every expectation I had! It was super cheesy and delicious, the tortilla chips were warm to go with the dip too which was really good. The main was a big portion so brace yourself! You can pay at the table using a self-service machine too which makes things easier.“

“We had a wonderful time at this establishment that is popular with the locals. Our bartender, Christine, was very knowledgeable about the area and provided us with excellent recommendations for places to ride, eat, and experience the beauty of the region.
We returned twice more for late-night cocktails, and Josh also proved to be an exceptional bartender and the food was GOOD!
Thanks for the wonderful time!“

“1 Kick Butt kind of place! We went for lunch, I had heard that they Were the winners of the best hamburger in carson valley for multiple years. One thing that intrigued me is that they were claiming that their onion rings were all from scratch in their french fries and their potato chips. Diana got the potato chips, I got the Onion Rings. Both were Awesome ? She had the hot Sicilian sandwhich I tried. Is the black and blue bacon Hamburger. Everything was excellent. The service she was right on and quite a character. Portions We're just right in there size, No need for Take home leftovers.... The interior was a kick!

“This is my go to breakfast stop in town! The food here is wonderful, the portions are big and the service is super friendly and fast. Come here more than once and you're pretty much a local. While it is the same Red Hut which the same diner charm and feel as the ones you can find up in Tahoe and Reno (and I've been to them all), this is without question my favorite. Typically, my wife will get a waffle combo and with their amazing bacon that's always cooked perfect and I typically get their Rosti or chicken fried steak and they're so good, I always have a hard time choosing which one to get. Of course, they do have daily specials and if I'm here on a Tuesday, the eggs benedict is outstanding and if I'm here on a Thursday, the corned beef hash cooked with a crispy shell and eggs over medium served with tomato slices is to die for. If you do this, I would highly recommend it with english muffins and eat it all together as an open face sandwich. Of course, lunches here a great too and their burgers are delicious. If you pay with cash and you'll get a discount. I should note that it can get pretty busy on the weekends especially on a Sunday after the crowds get out of church so plan accordingly. If you're a big group, there is a room in the back that can accommodate you as well.
Parking: The parking out front is somewhat limited but here is more along the side as well.“

“Stopped into this local watering hole while traveling through the charming town of Minden. I enjoyed an IPA on tap as well as a spinach-garlic pizza (made fresh to order). Beer and pizza were very good. Service was very friendly and although I am not a local, I was treated like ‘a regular.’ Atmosphere is ‘old-school’ casual. Location is right in the heart of historic (downtown) Minden.“

“Ordered show-inspired dishes: Seared Scallops, lobster risotto, and then also the Signature house salad and off-menu ahi tuna. Cocktails: A note from Gordon & Aloha Aperol. Entrees: Beef Wellington, Rack of Lamb lollipops, and crispy skin salmon. Desserts: PB&J tart, Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake, and Sticky Toffee Pudding with decaf drip coffee and a beautiful peach flower herbal tea.
As far as service goes, Luis and Viviana, who helped him, were attentive and on top of things and were very communicative, making sure the experience was pleasurable but not meddlesome. Eating here was the only time in Tahoe that our entrees were brought after we finished our apps, which we very much appreciated. The suggestions for our drinks were spot on with what we said we wanted. Also, Luis was a very good conversationalist and was kind enough to ask Chef Sander out to take a photo and speak with us as fans of the show.
The food: the Lobster Risotto was a chef’s kiss. Definitely our favorite part and a must-have. We will get an order each next time instead of sharing. The Scallops were excellent, just not as special as expected as a fan of the show. I loved the salad with the sherry vinaigrette; really happy we got it. The ahi tuna quality was excellent—we just felt it needed more of the chili garlic kapow— needed more acid to bring out the flavor. The beef Wellington was spectacular as anticipated; the quality of the filet inside was beyond perfection. The crispy skin salmon was perfect; my mom, who doesn’t even like salmon, enjoyed it with the accompaniments. The rack of lamb was okay; the chops were not as “Lamby” as expected, and everything on the plate needed more salt, which Luis brought to us when requested.
As for dessert: we really loved Gordon’s signature Sticky Toffee Pudding. The best part of the cheesecake were the meringues on top. The PB&J tart was missing something; we think it just maybe needed more raspberry, but we loved the crunchy chocolate nonperils on top.“
“This casino needs to learn how to communicate with their rewards customers. Say they will respond, and never do. Huge errors made by management with no explanations. They have lost us as players for sure and the talk amongst us players has left others doing the same thing. Mickie Mouse Casino.“
