Food sucks. Service is even worse. Owner is a wish version of Sam Malone who has done zero to improve this business in the decade he’s owned it.
With all the actual authentic Mexican places in Albany that are much better by comparison there’s zero reason to come to el loco. I love coming here, my dad worked here 🙂 always so friendly, caring, and upbeat! Never had a dull moment anytime I came in ❤️ Highly recommend this anytime someone is looking for great Mexican food!

El Loco Mexican Cafe is a great little Mexican restaurant in a chill part of Albany. The cocktails are good, and the food is definitely on-point. The restaurant is not that large, so reservations are highly recommended. The food is simply awesome. Customers mention a quisadillia with portobello mushrooms, side of rice lettuce, and tomatoes, as well as a bowl of outstanding chili and a tex-mex enchilada with beef, pinto beans, 2 types of cheese, wrapped up with onions, peppers, lettuce tomatoes. The food is consistently providing quality authentic Mexican cuisine, with healthy authentic options for vegans. The food was delicious and the drink was delicious. The inside is small. The staff is nice, though service can take a really long time when they are backed up. The outdoor seating in the summer is a great option, and the location near the park makes it perfect for a post-dinner stroll. It's an amazing place with excellent food and service, catering to various dietary needs.
