We weren't the best patrons - coming in with half as many people as I'd made the reservation for, and buying less food and drinks (plans changed last minute and we lost people and people ate beforehand) - but the service was excellent and the waitstaff was attentive anyways. Drinks and ambience were great. This place was highly recommended to me by my AirBnb hosts.

First time in the new Albany location, which I frequented often in its former self. We were a party of 2 both for the first time and loved it. The menu is very good with something for everyone. We shared 2 entrees and the sides that came with them. All of what we ordered was delicious and we enjoyed it. We also had dessert which we could not finish, even sharing 1 dessert. The decor of the restaurant was perfect for its theme. Great job!

I took my adult son to Hattie's for his birthday brunch. The service was outstanding, the menu amazing - choices were difficult to make! We shared the shrimp and grits and the chicken and waffles, and an order of beignets. The coffee was rich and flavorful. The food was perfectly seasoned and delicious. A couple of notes: there is a parking lot across the street for Hatties, and the bathroom was sparkling clean - win-win. We can't wait to go back! Shout out to one of our servers, Zimone, who introduced himself to us and was very helpful.

Food quality was the same as Saratoga, excellent. The service was spotty and the staff was not well trained, we waited over 20 minutes for our initial drink order. We ordered the 4 pc chicken and I received 2 wings and 2 legs, in Saratoga you always get a full half chicken, this was resolved when I complained. We also ordered mac & cheese with andouille sausage and received it without the sausage, the waiter said he was not aware it was available with sausage.

For a restaurant known for chicken, was extremely disappointed being served a raw chicken breast. It was then returned overcooked. Server didn't care and didn't discount the meal. Would NEVER go back! Horrible customer service.

If our server wasn’t as great as she was, I would be giving this place 0 stars. That aside, the food was so disappointing. We ordered the biscuits&cornbread as well as the oysters to start.Right off the bat, the oysters were dry(?) It’s like they drained the brine from each oyster. It made eating the oyster so awkward. I’m honestly not sure why anyone would decide to drain the brine. The biscuits&cornbread were undersalted and stale. For entrees we ordered the catfish and nashville hot chicken. The catfish was RAW. Like, the middle of the catfish was just completely raw. The nashville sandwhich was weirdly sweet and soo greasy, and the roll it came with was just awful. Dry and stale, it was easily falling apart. We ordered the brussel sprouts and mashed potato’s for the side. They were… subpar at best. Undersalted, and way too much butter.I’m surprised half of these dishes made it past the kitchen. These mistakes were all easily avoidable. I don’t want to completely rule out Hattie’s, as I know they just opened, but I will say there is an immense amount of room for improvement. The one positive is how great our waitress was, she was incredibly apologetic and sweet. If it wasn’t for her, I would not have walked out of there as calmly as I did. The manager took both our entrees of the bill, but said nothing to us personally.I will be back in a few months with hope for redemption as they figure out their new opening. Hattie’s- you have so much potential, but severely missed the mark.

Three of us went for dinner the other night. The place is decorated nicely and looks brighter than the old Lombardo’s. Nice job there. The staff are all dressed professionally and served us well. Unfortunately, that’s where the positive ends. First, the drink (think soda) glasses were really juice glasses. We had to have ours refilled three times and were still thirsty. Get rid of those and get some real glasses, especially at the price you’re charging. And I couldn’t believe we were charged for every refill!!! The glasses are 6 or 8 ounce at best, but filled at the bar to the top with ice cubes. That leaves three sips of soda per glass. Not good, and when we found out we were charged over $31 for these 9 tiny glasses of Pepsi, well, let’s just say that ruined it all for me. As far as the Jambalaya goes, that was decent according to my friend. The roasted Brussels sprout appetizer was very good. I did not like my chicken sandwich, beyond a great, crunchy coating there was a chewy thigh. I don’t know if that’s truly a southern thing, because I’m down south now and every chicken sandwich I’ve gotten down here has been breast meat. So for $20 for a chewy thigh sandwich? No again. Bottom line it cost us $140 with tip for a couple sandwiches, an appetizer, a serving a jambalaya and Pepsi’s. This doesn’t work for me, there’s way better meals at far lower prices than this. Good luck, but I don’t see Hattie’s surviving in Albany. And we won’t even talk about the neighborhood at night.Parking: The private lot for the restaurant is very tight. The width of the spaces is not standard, and I could not fit my Silverado PU truck in a spot and still get out the door. I had to then find a street spot a block and a half away.

Had dinner there last night and it was excellent. This is the location of the former Lombardo's restaurant on lower Madison Avenue. This is a new Albany location of the legendary Hattie's in Saratoga Springs, which has been serving up southern fare since the early 1930s. There is off-street parking next to the restaurant and in a lot directly across the street. Ambiance inside is lively and the renovations in the space kept many of the old Albany elements with a mix of New Orleans, all updated and welcoming. The cocktail I had - a Vieux Carre - was mixed to perfection. Jambalaya, grit cakes, key lime pie all outstanding. Friends had the famous fried chicken and the ribs - rave reviews. Excellent service. Highly recommended.Parking: Next to the restaurant and across the street.

First off from everything I've heard about the other locations I think this location is still working out some kinks.I love the decor. Some of the foodb was delicious (collards, rice & beans, Brussel sprouts) and some was terrible (fried oysters). My wife's dinner came out 20 minutes after money, I think I got the wrong order originally as it was missing the fried chicken and the appetizer showed up after the entrees. The bartender was a sweetheart. The rest of the staff very accommodating.Seems mostly like a kitchen issue which I am sure once they have a bit more experience will beuch better coordinated.Give it time and this place will rock!

Hattie's Albany met all my expectations and more! The atmosphere, the service, and the food were all amazing! The pork chop was among the best I ever had. Both my husband and I cannot stop talking about the donuts in the sundae. We can't wait to go back!

Everything was fantastic! The Capital martini was the best martini I’ve ever had. We ordered the crispy brussel sprouts, sausage boudin balls, Nashville hot chicken, jambalaya and the dessert sundae with the most incredible donuts. I can’t wait to come back!

The fried chicken was insanely delicious. And the Jambalaya was the best I ever had and easy to share. 10/10 on the Hatties scale.
