The food was executed well. The service lacked. Felt super rushed and impersonal. Even though the place was not busy at all when we came. We haven’t been back since our first visit which is unfortunate. Can’t justify paying so much money for the experience that lacks in service.

Our B&B hosts recommended Isabela. The power was out in town because of thunderstorms, but the restaurant has a generator. To keep this review simple - if you are looking for an excellent, high quality meal, go - just go! They handled my dairy allergy easily. Isabela is a hidden gem located in Amenia. The space is beautiful with a chic fun vibe, but no pretense. The service is exceptional—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The food is absolutely delicious and the best some have ever had in their travels. Favorite dishes include the sourdough bread with leek butter, the trout, and the sunflower cavatelli, topped off with a delicious affogato. The duck special for two features duck prepared two ways and is genuinely the best duck ever had. The sourdough bread is soft, delicious, and perfectly textured. The oysters and trout pate plus Jose’s sourdough are outstanding starters. For mains, the top sirloin and cod melt in the mouth, and the pork chop hiding under local roasted apples is tender and flavorful. For brunch, the Shakshuka for Two is divine, and the duck fat potatoes are not to be missed. Desserts like rice pudding with little toppings are perfect, and the hot apple cider adds to the cozy experience. Drinks are also very good. Overall, a 10/10 experience worth the trip.
