“Love this place so much that I was a regular until they took my fave dish Cali Fries off DoorDash and I’ve been distraught for like a month plus now. Otherwise I would have gave them a 5/5 stars. PLEASE put Cali fries back up on DoorDash/UberEats (I’m desperate) ✨🙏🏻”

“We've ordered subs many times, but today something incredible happened! The subs were made by Sam, and it was so incredibly delicious that it was the first time I had ever tasted how it was meant to be! I think Sam is the best employee, and he does a great job! It's been 20 minutes since I ate everything down to the last crumb, but I'm still impressed by how delicious he made everything!”

“Love this place so much. We have gone here and ordered here from when I was a baby. They have DECADES of great service right here in Arverne. They have seen us grow up, get married, have children, go off to college, come back etc. and we have seen their children grow up, go off to school and come back as well. They are kind and consistent. Some times we do take out, sometimes delivery, but we always tip. The very best Chinese food.”

“5 Stars – Outstanding Customer Service!
I had a truly exceptional experience at the Starbucks on Beach Channel Drive, all thanks to a Supervisor named Antonio. My daughter and I came in shortly before closing, and I was having trouble with the app while trying to place an order. Instead of turning us away or brushing us off, Antonio went above and beyond—patiently trying multiple ways to help us troubleshoot the issue. When the app still wouldn’t cooperate, he generously offered us complimentary beverages so we wouldn’t leave empty-handed.
His kindness, professionalism, and genuine care for customer experience truly stood out. It’s rare to see that level of dedication these days, especially right before closing time. Antonio deserves recognition for embodying the spirit of excellent customer service. He made our evening, and I hope Starbucks knows what a gem they have in him!”

“Delicious and such incredibly warm service!! Our first time here and will be back. Big winners were the tortelloni — big luscious pillowy bites — and the gramigna, a total crowd pleaser. Also enjoyed every one of our cocktails. Thank you Gigante team!!”

“Sat at the bar with 2 other friends last week, service was attentive, food was delicious. We didn't love the honey creme dessert thing, the consistency was kinda weird but would def reco the pumpkin sour cocktail.”

“A warm welcoming place offering French Creole cuisine from Reunion island. A compact menu offering very reasonably priced apps and mains, and a lot of lentil and rice. Ordered the sampler though a few items we wanted were out. Tender coconut shrimp and beef Bourguignon entrees were excellent. We were well taken care of by the staff.”

“My friends and I had a lovely afternoon at The Rockaway Hotel Pool house. We were greeted by a warm and friendly hostess, Isabella, who made us feel so welcomed. Our beautiful table was in the perfect spot to take in all of what the Rockaway Hotel has to offer. The outside bar and Pool house are exquisite. The pool was bustling with excitement. Our waiter, Andrew, was polite and helpful . I highly recommend coming to The Rockaway Hotel because their staff is highly professional and attentive.”

“Not enough words to describe how much I love this place.
It is consistently delicious. I will always start off with a Bruschetta or Raddichio Caesar and it hits every time. The pizzas are fantastic and they always have some funky flavor pairings that are surprisingly tasty. There is hardly a wait except on super busy nights (and then barely a wait at all) and the atmosphere is vibey. I have brought many friends and the reviews are always the same: amazing.
I’d recommend this as a great neighborhood spot any day.”

“Went to TORA NYC recently and decided to order takeout, but even from that short experience the hospitality stood out. While we were waiting, they offered us water and were really welcoming, which already left a good impression. The space itself looks beautiful modern, intimate, and definitely feels like the kind of place that would make a really nice date spot.
We ordered three dishes: the Yokan Roll, Negichutoro Don, and Gyudon.
The Yokan Roll was a really nice example of how modern sushi rolls balance texture and richness. Inside was spicy salmon and cucumber, and it was topped with lightly seared salmon, mentaiko sauce, tempura flakes, and tobiko. The seared salmon added a gentle smokiness while still keeping that soft buttery texture salmon naturally has. The mentaiko sauce, made from seasoned pollock roe that’s widely used in Japanese cuisine, brought a creamy, briny umami flavor that paired really well with the fish. Tobiko added those signature little bursts of saltiness, and the tempura flakes gave a light crunch that balanced the richness of the sauce and salmon. It was a well constructed roll where each topping actually had a purpose.
We also got the Negichutoro Don, which had minced medium fatty bluefin tuna over rice. In sushi terminology, tuna is categorized by fat content akami being lean, chutoro the medium fatty section, and otoro the richest cut from the belly. Chutoro tends to be the sweet spot because it has enough fat to be buttery while still keeping that clean ocean flavor. The texture here was incredibly soft and almost melt-in-your-mouth. Negitoro as a dish traditionally mixes minced tuna with scallions, since the word “negi” literally means scallion. The tuna quality here was great and the texture was amazing, but I do think it could be elevated slightly. If the scallions were minced and mixed into the toro instead of sitting on top it would distribute the flavor more evenly. A little shredded nori could add some aroma from the sea, and honestly avocado would pair really nicely with the richness of the tuna.
The Gyudon was probably the most comforting dish we ordered. Gyudon has a long history in Japan and became popular in the late 19th century as a quick, affordable rice bowl. Thinly sliced beef is simmered in a sweet savory broth that’s very similar to sukiyaki sauce, usually made with soy sauce, mirin, sugar, and sometimes dashi. The beef absorbs that slightly sweet umami flavor as it cooks. Here it was served over rice with scallions, sesame seeds, and an onsen egg. Once everything was mixed together, the egg yolk coated the rice and beef and brought everything together. The sauce, beef, and egg created that rich silky texture that makes gyudon such a comforting dish.
Even though we only ordered takeout, that level of service was noticeable.
Overall the food was really good and thoughtfully prepared. The fish quality was great, the bowls were comforting, and the hospitality stood out even in a quick takeout experience. The restaurant itself looks like a really nice place to sit down and enjoy a meal, so we’ll definitely be coming back to dine in next time.”

“4.3 stars. Birthday dinner for our son and couldn’t have picked a cooler spot! Located in a questionable neighborhood from our trek out there, Mao Mao is a gem in the rough. We actually walked past it and had to double back. From the moment we walked in, we knew it was going to be solid.
Started with a Thai Iced Tea ($7), Khao Kriap aka Shrimp Chips ($5), Pik Gai Zaap aka Wings ($11) and Kung Sam Rot aka Fried Shrimp ($12). All were brought out shortly. Shrimp chips were good though small in size. Wings were small as well but had nice seasoning. The fried shrimp were very good and super crispy!
We all ended up ordering Khao Soi for our entrees. Yes, we are HUGE fans of this most delicious Northern Thai noodle dish. Our birthday boy added some extra egg noodles (+$6) which filled him up.
Note that they do not have dessert here so any sweet cravings will have to be filled elsewhere. Very friendly employees who work well together to keep things moving smoothly throughout the restaurant.
All-in with tip for dinner was right at $160.”

“Sometimes you’re just looking for a little beach time and some great BBQ – and Batesy's BBQ delivered on both! We were in town helping another G-FORCE location with an Amazon project, so naturally, we took a break to explore the local food scene. First Impressions: We kicked off with the Deviled Eggs – the jalapeño added a nice little kick while the bacon... well, it was bacon – crispy and delicious. Next up were the House Pickles – sweet, vinegary, and unexpectedly tasty. Who knew pickles could be this good? The Mains: Harry went with the Pulled Pork – packed with flavor, moist, and paired with an excellent sauce. The Potato Salad stood out with just the right-sized chunks, and the Cornbread? Perfectly crispy on the outside. Steve opted for the BBQ Chicken – tender and juicy, coated with that same outstanding house sauce. And the Kielbasa? This place might not be Polish, but they nailed it – full of flavor and definitely a surprise hit! The Potato Salad reminded us of Grandma’s homemade classic, and the Collards had a unique twist that, honestly, we didn’t hate. The rest of the table didn’t hold back either – from the Burger to the Mac and Cheese and, of course, more Pulled Pork, it was all a hit! No complaints across the board – Batesy's BBQ is definitely a must-stop if you’re in Rockaway Beach. #BBQLovers #PaintAndPlateCrew #GForceOnTheGo #FoodieFinds #WinWithVSB”
