“Sometimes you’re just looking for a little beach time and some great BBQ – and Batesy's BBQ delivered on both! We were in town helping another G-FORCE location with an Amazon project, so naturally, we took a break to explore the local food scene. First Impressions: We kicked off with the Deviled Eggs – the jalapeño added a nice little kick while the bacon... well, it was bacon – crispy and delicious. Next up were the House Pickles – sweet, vinegary, and unexpectedly tasty. Who knew pickles could be this good? The Mains: Harry went with the Pulled Pork – packed with flavor, moist, and paired with an excellent sauce. The Potato Salad stood out with just the right-sized chunks, and the Cornbread? Perfectly crispy on the outside. Steve opted for the BBQ Chicken – tender and juicy, coated with that same outstanding house sauce. And the Kielbasa? This place might not be Polish, but they nailed it – full of flavor and definitely a surprise hit! The Potato Salad reminded us of Grandma’s homemade classic, and the Collards had a unique twist that, honestly, we didn’t hate. The rest of the table didn’t hold back either – from the Burger to the Mac and Cheese and, of course, more Pulled Pork, it was all a hit! “The Cuban sandwich with 2 sides Is so delicious I Have been craving it for over ten years now since I Moved Out of town And I have never been disappointed by anything That I have ever had there and I was literally a regular customer there for over five years in a row I was just so hungry and I had to make it my daily lunch break Order and it was so good to have a seat at one of the tables and Take my lunch break and enjoy my lunch break with a leisurely seat at a little table. By the soda fridge and then I was done eating lunch and I had cooled off enough to get back to my work and finish for the day and then I went home with my full belly And complete satisfaction with my lunch and what I ate. “So I will say I was skeptical. As a southerner we often think there's no good barbecue outside of the South. However I was pleasantly surprised with this spot! The ribs were fall off the bone tender. As a bit of a BBQ enthusiast I tend to avoid cooking mine that way but I must say the ribs here are good and the sauce was tasty! The Owner (I assume) was very pleasant, and it was great exchange while I waited. He gave me a whole heap of ribs and could barely close the container!! Service was prompt and I would definitely recommend this as a stop for lunch if you're in the area! Just make sure you bring your appetite!“
