“Was looking for hotels and came across this. Will have to check the place out when I get there. Owner needs to update that it's no longer a hotel as it'll keep coming up hotel in Google search. Place does sound great otherwise so will update my experience when we get there next week!!“

“A huge array of food options. A full bar. The server was very nice. Fairly busy for 10pm on a Thursday. But didn't have to wait to long for food/drinks. It was delicious! Very good portions, and reasonable prices. Will definitely go again and would recommend“

“I had a reuben and a side of fries. Portions were very generous, the corned beef was sliced thin and piled high with delicious saurkraut and the rye bread perfectly toasted on the grill. The fries were hot and crisp and not thin string fries. Excellent meal at $10 and the serving staff were very friendly. I highly recommend Blue Anchor and the reuben!“

“Hidden gem of the mohawk valley. Rich is a nice guy, his sister goes above and beyond when she waitresses and adores my son. Taco Tuesday and Wing nights are a must! So good! Portions of anything you order are plentiful. Nick burger is by far my favorite dish! Drinks are reasonably priced as well!“

“Had a great experience here. Very friendly small town feel. Prices seemed a little high for breakfast but as you can see from the pictures no one left hungry. They have breakfast or lunch all day, come in and get your burger at 7 am and they'll accommodate. Really friendly staff and delicious food. They even made enormous Mickey pancakes for the kids. “Took a group there that was one of our customers. It's out of the way for me living in Syracuse. But it was worth it. They keep a good variety of beer on hand. Including Flower Power. Had wings and they were really good. Not as good as The Mill in Rome, but still five stars. Beer selection is better and pricing is very good. Staff friendly and prompt. Thank you Stockdale's.“

“This place is fabulous, the customer service goes beyond reproach. The Alamo bar and grill is a must do place, the folks there put a lot of care in what they do, from the waitresses and waiters all the way to the kitchen, staff and cooks that should be called chefs. There’s a lot of passion and love that goes into every dish that leaves the kitchen. For me is home way from home! Oh yes, don’t forget to ask how them the history behind naming the place “Alamo bar & grill”, great story!“

“This was an unexpected highlight of a recenttripto the Adirondacks. Right off, I do prefer places that reflect the local flavor over places that try to reflect the tastes of other places. In other words, I appreciate authenticity. The Tavern on the Gorge boasted a friendly staff, good bar food and a welcoming atmosphere with a good assortment of beverage offerings. I happened to catch this place during a night whereby they had comedians from NYC. The comedians were very good and got plenty of laughs poking fun at the Afirondack lifestyles and values. The patrons appreciated this ribbing and a great night of unexpected fun was a much needed release for me and my wife. We will return on our next trip to the North Country to recapture this homespun experience.“
