“We enjoyed the 11:30 Christmas Brunch Sunday at the Alabama Hotel with our family and it was absolutely delicious! Such a selection of food and it was all very warm and not one thing dried out. The fruit was so fresh! The grandchildren enjoyed the many different choices as much as the adults did! And all the servers are awesome and were very attentive! Great job to all at Alabama Hotel! “Only place in WNY that has the chef, Corey, straight out of the Louisiana Bayous. Besides a regular diner menu, he serves crawfish and shrimp alfredo and a jambalaya that please any palate, as mild or spicy as you prefer. All cooked to order. Try his fish sandwich on sourdough bread. It is humongous and comes with 2 sides of your choice. Dessert features a big variety local, Perry’s Ice Cream. With snow cones for the kiddies. Beignets , just like at the Cafe DuMond in New Orleans.”

“I'm on the run a lot and have now stopped three times for to-go orders and have been extremely happy each time. Their soups are fantastic. Most recently ordered the greek salad, it is amazing, the salad is perfectly balanced with ingredients, the Greek dressing on the side was a most generous portioned size, it was so scrumptious. I had only wished I had requested bread to soak up the remaining of the dressing after it had filtered through all those fresh ingredients, picking up addional flavors before everything else was fully devoured. I highly recommend Caryville Inn.”

“Came in at 2330 for a 0000 delivery, check in was super smooth and very easy to find, just follow the signs. They kept me in the loop about how unloading me was going, told me about some damaged cases and how long it would be. They let me stay in the dropped trailer area until it was all sorted out. The staff was extremely friendly and thoughtful. This was one of the best DC's I've been to.”

“No our first dining experience here, but my first review. The facility is a fantastically rustic bar/restaurant run by the same family for 56 years! and counting. The octagonal dining area gives full view of an open flame grill that gives great comfort and a home town feeling. Plenty of tables and chairs, quite nicely decorated open beam walls and ceiling. Our waitress/server, Vickie is a sweet woman, very attentive to your needs and quick on the draw with drinks and food delivery. A couple came in that hadn't been in the area for decades and it was a pleasure listening to Vickie's brief explanation of the restaurant and it's history. The couple clearly felt very comfortable. On to our experience . . We enjoyed a cold beer, fresh made bread (banana and plain) and our appetizers as we briefly waited for our dinner orders. My small chef salad was just the size I ordered, garnished with a few green peppers, tomato, etc. My husband enjoyed a bowl of cheeseburger soup, he say's was also delicious. Our meals arrived: mine was a fish fry with coleslaw, french fries, ample tarter sauce, and lemon. The FISH WAS COOKED PERFECT! I loved the nicely crisped batter with steaming tender fish when I pierced the batter with my fork. The french fries a similar to fresh cut size, and cooked perfectly, as well. My husband enjoyed a plate of fried breaded shrimp and french fries. Having enjoyed the shrimp on a previous occasion we knew it would be great! Clean shrimp, no tails, cooked and ready to pop in your mouth. Juicy and delicious. Plenty of cocktail sauce. It was nice to watch Chef Maureen cooking orders over the flame grill; a nice thick piece of pork, sizzling away. Such a great dinner and friendly people. Thank you! We will return!

“Tried their pizza for the first time yesterday and will definitely return again for another. It’s a family owned business that’s been around for a long time, the type I like to support. Fresh dough, a traditional pizza oven, and just the right amount of everything, prepared by hand. Also enjoyed my conversation with the polite gentleman that took my order and made the pizza. The best part is I fed my family without dirtying a plate at home for five dollars per person, with leftovers. Can’t beat that!”

“Cozy food oasis, most flavorful subs/pizzas in town, great value/service. You want the absolute best sub in Medina? Or a classic pizza? It’s made at Doug’s Pizza, a virtual hole-in-the-wall operation in a tiny strip mall on the outskirts of town that all the locals know about. Totally ignore the corporate-run, overpriced fast food chains and other restaurants along Maple Ridge Rd. Doug delivers such awesome food value he doesn’t even need to advertise. He’s a hardworking machine with a ready smile, and the nicest guy you’ll ever find behind a food prep counter.

For a healthy and filling lunch, I highly recommend Doug’s All American sub (the whole size) featuring quality turkey, roast beef and ham. I get it with provolone cheese and ALL the side toppings plus mayo, oil & vinegar and a little salt & pepper. The generous portions spill out & you can barely close the sub sandwich! Doug’s pizzas are still among the tastiest in Medina, with a recipe going all the way back to the 1970s when this local spot first opened up as Mary’s Sub Shop. The fish fry here is also consistently good, and comes with freshly made cole slaw and awesome golden fries.

Parking: There are plenty of places to park in front of Doug’s, as well as nearby.

Kid-friendliness: Kids love pizza. Doug’s pizza is awesome!

Wheelchair accessibility: It’s a ground floor location at same level as parking lot, so easily accessible.”
