Restaurantji's Briarcliff Manor guide: Where to find the ultimate Mexican flavors.
“Really amazing food, nice kids menu. Food was amazing. They give really good nachos and salsa. Informal but great service, incredible food and affordable. Tastes like genuine Mexican cuisine. Highly recommended!Kid-friendliness: Went with my son, had a great affordable kids menu with big delicious portions.“
“It's just Amazing how you lose track of time going to this Awesome restaurant, we ate across the Bar...and by magic ...or entertained by the declaration and service ...All the problems went away...going to Guadalajara Restaurant is like therapy...“
“Best Mexican in Mount Kisco and the surrounding area!! Super fresh with quality ingredients and the taste is out of this world. Love their bowls and tacos with shrimp or crispy cauliflower. My kids love their quesadillas and rice and beans. Mexican hot chocolate and desserts are very yummy too. Thanks Juan for bringing your restaurant to the area!“
“Finally a really delicious taco place in the area. The service was great, the lady at the register was so nice, friendly and helpful. We ordered to take home, had planned on eating inside but there was no heat inside. My wife had Birria Tacos and a Quesabarria, she really enjoyed them both, especially the Tacos. I had the crunchy Taco and Quesadillas, both were very good. The crunchy Taco was so good, this place really knows how to make Tacos. We will be back for sure. Highly recommend trying. Also ordered churros, but didn't try yet.“
“Visiting family in Westchester from Los Angeles - Molcajete definitely passed the bar. The shrimp was big, juicy and fresh, the steak (we got the Molcajete, so it came with everything) was a nice cut and well cooked. Salsas were all super tasty and the guac was legit. Only slight LA pickiness is that it was missing the nopal.“
“So good; priced right. I've never eaten in the restaurant itself but I've ordered and the food is always good. The food is delicious. The service is great! Go now get good Mexican food that's for once not overpriced! Have the burrito they rock!“
“Stopped here on a lazy Saturday evening still looking for really good Mexican food. Everything we had was excellent. Tacos, guac, horchata and pambazo which I had never had before. I wish the restaurant was closer to home. Service was good but we were the only ones in the spot. Would definitely return again.“
“Umm I come about once a week now. One of the employees almost knows my order on site. LOL does that mean I go too often? The food is soo good & the service is spectacular. My only issue is deciding which day of the week I'm going to go. Give them a try I promise you'll love them.“
“This place is AMAZING! It is unique and authentic - everything is fresh, and their quesadilla (made with corn / masa is very unique but incredible).Their salsas are perfect on everything they make and the tacos are some of the best I've had (chorizo is my favorite thus far but all have been good). Looking forward to going here and ordering from Uber eats again.“
“We came here based on the reviews after an appointment and upper Westchester. This is actually after our second visit. We actually sat in the lounge area by the bar, where it was happy hour and enjoy the music, the energy of the surrounding people and of course the food is excellent. The fusion of Latin and modern cuisines is so ingenious their drinks are phenomenal. This is definitely one of our go to spots when we want to have a blend of delicious fusion and healthy mix together .“
“This is above average Mexican food. Not only is the quality and taste a cut above, but the menu has the standard fare plus a bunch of authentic Mexican dishes. The night we were there a tequila company was sponsoring margarita samples in various flavors, so we got about 7 (small, free drinks) - icing on the cake!“
“Don't let the fact that this place is in a gas station fool you. This place is a hidden gem of Rockland. A real hole in the wall. A must try. Food is amazing and the staff is so friendly. This is definitely my new go to place for tacos.“
“Great and diverse menu served in an organized fashion with cheerful staff! Couldn't ask for anything better! Oh wait, they also have a fantastic selection of Mexican sodas. AND they have delicious and homemade Mexican popsicles (Paletas) that came in so many wonderful flavors. Would absolutely recommend this place, located in a convenient spot in downtown Chappaqua with free parking behind the restaurant. Definitely check this place out!“
“It’s a cozy place in the heart of White Plains that serves delicious authentic mexican food but the best is the service by the hostess and owner Graciela, we highly recommend the place . Prices are reasonable. Friendly environment Super clean.“

“Fun atmosphere & Delicious Authentic Mexican food..Kid-friendliness: Kids are Welcomed & have Yummy deserts for kids..Parking: Beekman, side street non paid parking..Wheelchair accessibility: It’s street level.. Easy in & out..“
“Our friends, family and I (group of 12) went there on Sunday evening. It was our second time and it was even better than the last time! Friendly service, and great food! Everything we ordered was yum all the way to the desert. We already promised to ourselves we will be back next month already. Worth a trip! (We drive approx 40 min) Michas gracias ?“
“I had lunch yesterday with my daughter and her toddler. Valentino was our amazing server. He could not have been more helpful, kind, or quick (which was very appreciated)! The food is always excellent! I’ve had both lunch and dinner there and have always been very happy. I highly recommend it! ❤️“
“Very impressed! Dined here tonight and I was blown away with the quality and flavor of the food.I ordered the Guajillo rub chicken and it was great. The chicken was extremely juicy and flavorful. The presentation was amazing and the flavor hit different. Definitely more intricate and delicious flavors here compared to your standard Mexican restaurant. From the way the food was presented you can tell there is a great chef putting passion into the cooking. The chocolate lava cake was a hit to end out the dinner.Definitely give this place a try, I will be back for sure. The passionfruit mojitos were a hit as well!“
“We stopped in for lunch after not having been in for many years. No reason other than we seldom think of it because there are several other Mexican places closer to us. We really enjoyed it. It's not a large menu, but it's got enough variety. The food and drinks were excellent, and the service was comfortable - attentive without being rushed or overbearing. Atmosphere seems authentic and is also very comfortable. We enjoyed a terrific lunch for a around the same price we would have paid for a sandwich and fries some place else. We left very satisfied and looking forward to our next visit.“
“Panchito's is our new go-to Taco and Burrito spot. Francisco, the owner, and his staff go out of their way to be friendly and really take pride in their business which shines through in every interaction. The food is great, and we will keep coming back.Kid-friendliness: Remembers my kids name, and is very kind to our family.“
“5 stars for offering super healthy food in the Rivertowns! The menu has expanded and now includes fajita bowls served in lovely earthenware. The atmosphere has become cozy with soft lighting and beautiful flower filled vases on each table. Great value and service. It was busy on a Tuesday evening; this is good news for anyone searching for healthy delicious food in the area.“
“Not familiar with the area so I just picked from the phone map app. Brought us to a busy street, with a lot of eateries and so much Halloween decor. Coco's is a small place, with 3 tables and a window seating area for 3 people. But, so many people going in and out. Luckily, there was a table when we got there. We ordered at the counter and someone brought the food to our table. Pretty big menu so we tried some food which were new to us. Pancita is a red, spicy soup with tripe, served with soft tortillas. Seemed like a soup with a lot of chili-type oil so wasn't for me; I just ate the tripe pieces with rice and beans and I liked that better. Chimichanga was fried, filled with a lot of shredded beef and cheese - a bit salty so needed to eat with the salad and rice and beans it came with. Lengua tacos were ok, no distinct flavor or texture for me. Elote de la esquina was boiled corn (not grilled) with a generous amount of cotija cheese and red pepper but was neither too salty or too spicy, which was good for me. Smart to put in a tall plastic drink container.Street parking - we were lucky to find one nearby though.“
“Finding QUALITY AUTHENTIC mexican food is hard in Rockland. But this place checks all the marks. No random peas or lettuce in dishes that dont have it. Great salsa verde (sometimes it is a bit spicy, so careful folks). Delicious chilaquiles. Great torta. Hand squeezed orance juice. This is a hidden gem. Somewhat easy to park.“
“Basing my review on the taco salad but it's so good that it deserves its own review. It's such a massive salad, with such a great portion and fresh ingredients. The mango vinaigrette is absolutely delicious. I usually get it to go, and while they haven't mastered the art of packing this massive salad up yet, I absolutely suggest it!“
“The Taco Project is a cool restaurant. Loved the vibe and the food was pretty good.Food: So, let's taco 'bout this place! I dove into the Chili Shrimp and Mexican Corn Tacos, while my buddy tackled the Birria Bowl. The shrimp had some killer flavors, especially after I added a squirt of salsa verde for that extra kick. Only gripe? Wish they offered singles so I could mix it up. And those tortillas? Super tasty, but man, double 'em up next time to avoid the messy "blowout" situation. He loved the Birra Bowl. Super filling and satisfying. I also like that they have Margaritas, a nice surprise. Now, onto service: These guys were the real MVPs. Despite the fast-casual setup, they kept tables clean and were all over the dining area like pros.Vibe-wise? Cool as a cucumber. Digging the décor and that sunny corner spot, even on a gloomy day. Great place to chill and chow down. They have one in Stamford, where I have a client, so I will give that location a try as well.Date of Visit: 20 March 2024“
“Random stop for a quick bite. Foods good. Tacos were solid. It’s been a while since I’ve had tacos this good. Hot food (rice and beans w/ stewed ribs) felt very home cooked. I didn’t speak Spanish but this is the type of place I like going to. When I don’t know a lick of what everyone is saying is usually why I’m there in the first place. Def worth a try, I was lucky there was a lady that spoke English, otherwise it might have been kinda hard. But I would’ve figured it out.“
“There aren’t a ton of Mexican options around our area (that I’ve found anyway) so I was excited to try this one out when we found it. It was pretty good. We tried the chicken enchiladas, tacos (chorizo, shrimp, and beef), fries (of course), and the chips and guac. Everything was pretty good, some parts were a little dry. It’s a very small hole in the wall and the wait time was really long. It took about 45 minutes for our pick up to be ready which I thought was pretty long. Overall, it was okay and I’d go back to try something else.I was a little disappointed to see them still using styrofoam containers and would love to see them switch to something more eco friendly.“
“The staff at Loco Cantina, especially our waitress Monica, provided exceptional service from start to finish. Their warmth and attentiveness made us feel right at home. Monica offered recommendations for food and drinks, and checked in on us often. The food was tasteful and in conversation I mentioned my birthday a few days ago. I had a dessert on the house and it was delicious! I willl definitely return back soon. I hope they offer brunch soon :)“
“Top notch Mexican food at a great price. Aquas frescas are amazing, authentic, and at least 20 fl. oz. Prices are perfect. Small dining room, but they do not cramp the tables together. Spanish-language talk shows or telenovelas on a 50" screen blare their Central- and South-American equivalents of nonsense TV. It all makes for a perfect combination of a good lunch somewhere. The food is top notch, with the chips/salsa plentiful. Want guac? It's homemade and, if I recall, $8 for a ton of it. Their plates will overwhelm you, again, for a reasonable price. Plus, seasonings are spot on.You have to go there. Tip well. I know I will again after a luncheon there once upon a random time.“
“Ive started to find the best torta and I've so far I've tried four different Mexican restaurants and by far Cancun makes the best torta and for a great price. They also sell warm and delicious Mexican bread made fresh. The only downside of the places is at night where many men come to drink.“
“Just finished dinner here. It was beyond delicious. The service was great. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. The food was fresh and the portions were huge! It was hard to decide on what to order because the whole menu was amazing. We will definitely be coming back!“
“There were two other locations. The one in north Yonkers unfortunately closed but the Riverdale site (and this one) are still going strong. Great happy hour, solid plates, and great service. Drinks are well done. Parking can be a problem and there aren’t many tables when the place is popular, but worth it.“
“We love this place! Super authentic Mexican cuisine where you always feel welcome! The people here are so friendly and helpful. Margaritas are so good!! I got the spicy and my husband got the classic.Food was fantastic! We loved the enchiladas mole poblano, the cheese enchilada, bean burrito, and chicken flautas! Not to mention the starter mini cheese quesadilla, and dessert banana chimichanga. Everything was super fresh and absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back!! Muchas Gracias!!Dietary restrictions: Super accommodating“
“This place checks all the boxes for an authentic, family run, home-cooked experience. The menu is a mishmash of printed page and handwriting, the staff and clientele are nearly all Spanish speaking, it is spotless for dirt and there is Mexican football on the telly. The food is good. It's not fancy, and that should keep the snobs away, but it has the essential combination of scent, visuals, taste and the inner warmth a cook who loves a dish can make. You can do the El Typico half chicken, tacos which my sons say are rocking, steak platters in all their various combinations, and these wee Jammie cake style pupusa things. A novelty for me, very popular in Latin America apparently, they are enclosed buckwheat pancakes with a choice of fillings. Some of which you've never heard of, so try them. This is grass roots cooking, and I am a fan. In a low sodium World, the tropical propensity for salt is punkette, the spice combinations are unfamiliar but pleasing. Part of the meal I ate was a little dry, but that's what the excellent salsa is for, and everyone at the table is coming back. There is no booze, which is a good thing in working mens establishments playing football, and the while the drinks selection is authentic it is limited. Expect to pay fifteen bucks a head per adult, leaving plenty of opportunity for a jumbo tip. Don't go if you are stuck up.“
“We visited this place on a Saturday, we tried Birria con arroz y Frijoles, and this was one of the best Birria in town ever! We also had Tacos arabes, the meat, seasonings and the salsa roja were beyond delicious. I have to say that costumer service is one of the best we have ever had. We highly recommend you this place, don't go with the fact that is a small establishment. You won't regret it“
“A great new and refreshing Mexican restaurant with very authentic food. The service is fast, the music and ambiance are delightful. The drinks and barria tacos are a must try, they will not disappoint. If you're in the area stop by and see for yourself.“
“Tijuana has the best Mexican cuisine in Mount Kisco. All of their ingredients are clearly fresh and everything is made to order! They have the same "chipotle" style set up, but the ingredients are so so SO much better. And if you don't want to make your own, all of their premade menu items are perfection!! You can literally taste the extra care and love that is put into each meal. I have been coming here for YEARS and will not and cannot stop! The owners start making my owner before I even close the door behind me, they're the sweetest people ever. Please give Tijuana a try if you're looking for your new favorite spot for a a burrito, and probably some churros!!“
“I'd give this place a 10/10 the food is always on point, I eat from here at least 2 times a week, the best and I mean the best genuine Mexican tacos I've had around here, the girls on the counter are super friendly and follow instructions really really well, I'm very satisfied with this place, a hidden “
“The food is great. Authentic. Owner and team make you feel at home. This is on the top of my must go to places when I am in Westchester! The place is home style, not fancy - enjoy it ?Parking: Parking directly across the street. No charge at night.“
“Just ate the most delicious steak tacos I’ve had in a minute!! Service was great too, the young lady really was really patient and helpful. I would take a pic but I ate the whole thing in less then 5 minutes, kiss the cook for me ????Parking: It’s behind the restaurant“
“The deli is spotless and the setbice great. I asked for tuna and chopped celery and the rice was exemptional. I brought home a soft roll for my husband to use with the extra tuna I got for him. Made to order I'll try something else next time. The deli lacy is polite and eager to help clients.Fran Lewis just reviews“
“The food was absolutely delicious, we were very happy to find out they serve authentic Mexican food, and the ambience was very enjoyable as well, the workers were all very welcoming and friendly, would definitely recommend and will certainly be back.“
“amazing place for Bkst Lunch or Dinner. We ate outside under a tent and had the BEST Quesadillas I have ever eaten! The people are so sweet too. The menu is extensive, but their salads are amazing! Give a newbie a break, you won't be sorry!“
“Service was good, food was delicious. Went on a Sunday evening, no other customers but us in the main dining area. Food came quickly. TV was a bit loud, overpowering our conversation but otherwise staff seemed friendly, service and food was good.“
“Really an excellent place! I highly recommend you go here! Diego and his family were really welcoming. It's a family run business, and you can tell - the food's great! You can find parking easily on the street. The flavors were excellent, especially the home made sauces. Everything was good! There's seating inside, too.“
