The South of France Reviews
Great karaoke. Definitely recommend
It is a family friendly ambiance. The food, service & the DJ is great . The owner is always welcoming and runs a top notch restaurant. She is amazing & very involved in all aspects of her establishment. I highly recommend it for a fun date night, girls fun time or family meal.
The owner is the sweetest ever. Believe it or not in The Bronx, NY it is so hard to find authentic Puerto Rican Cuisine. This right here is a heavy hitter on authenticity. The rice and guandules is done the right PR way. I've seen many others do rice DR style and portray it as PR. Both delicious but when I'm craving PR food, that is what I want. The food was delicious. The service was impeccable.
I was sad to hear that they are at risk of closing. Putting out this review...read full review
The South of France is a restaurant that offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with attentive service, making it a great place for a meal. The owner, Maribel, is gracious, and the staff is welcoming. The food is delicious, fresh, and flavorful, with dishes like rice and guandules prepared the authentic PR way. The menu features tasty options such as plaintain, chuletas, churrasco, and mofongos, all cooked to perfection with the right seasoning and texture. The drinks are well-made, enhancing the dining experience. The cozy, woody, and earthy dining area adds to its charm, creating a welcoming environment. Although it functions more as a bar, it still serves delicious food, and the prices for drinks are a bit on the higher side. Located in the heart of the Bronx, it is a charming local gem fighting to stay open and continue sharing its authentic dishes with the community.
