Great knishes, tasty $1 bagels, OK pasta (recommend the penne a la vodka and the linguine w/mushroom alfredo), all of it kosher if that matters to you (seems to be run by Hasidim). Haven't had the courage to try their sushi, but I'm sure it's fine. Ave Cafe's greatest feature is that it is MUCH cheaper than the rest of the neighborhood. I probably wouldn't come in here as much as I do if they weren't a block away from where I live and it didn't cost, like $12 for a simple lunch...read full review
I work in the neighborhood and when we needed catering for an event at my business everyone recommended Avenue Cafe. The service was very professional and the food was delicious. They have a lot of experience with catering and knew exactly how much we needed for the event. I would highly recommend this restaurant for catering and even for just eating out.

This place was great! I placed a large order for a corporate event and they did such a fantastic job. The staff was wonderful, friendly and helpful. the pizza was just delicious! both kosher and non kosher eaters appreciated it. They were the only pizza shop that would deliver outside their nabe in Brooklyn.
