“I visited Yummy Tummy bakery for the first time today, with five other friends of mine to support a Black-owned business during Black History Month. The owner Melissa and Kaylan made the entire experience a delight. The two of them made sure we got all of our treats in a timely manner and treated us with such care. The sweets themselves were absolutely delicious. The fruity pebble cupcake particularly was the perfect amount of sweet, moist, and airy. If you’re in the neighborhood, I’d definitely recommend you stop by!“

“We had the Al pastor tacos, carnitas tacos, and tonga empanada. All of it was excellent!! Such good authentic Mexican food. I have been searching for this style of empanada since I first had them homemade by my Argentinian friends mom. So so good. Highly recommend!“

The seasoning had the right balance of flavor and heat, and the bun was soft, fresh, and held everything together without getting soggy. “Tacos Comal is following what every taco spot in Ny is trying to do; and that is to mimic the ever popular Tijuana style taco of course originating from its name sake and an ever popular option in California. And just like these taqueria in NY that try to mimic the look is there but the flavor cannot seem to get it right. These tacos are 3.5, although I cannot give it in my review it’s not deserving a 4 but mediocre is not by any measure and definitely does not deserve a 3. It falls in a 3.5 category. It’s not that the flavor is bad, it’s more that I don’t taste the authenticity. The salsas were weak and the biggest saving grace of this taco spot is its tortillas, which are definitely delicious.

If you’re looking for a good New York taco this is your spot! If you’re looking for an authentic Mexico or California taco they are to be found elsewhere.“

“I've been eating New York City halal cart food since 1998 when my wife worked on the corner of 53rd and 6th Avenue. I would grab a mixed platter from Halal Guys while I waited for her.

Then I became a fan of Adel's a little further down the street on 49th and 6th.

My new favorite is this cart in Williamsburg. Service is friendly and fun and most importantly, the platters are tasty, cooked to order, and priced at pre-Biden prices!

“The food here is really good. I normally only eat 2 tacos but they were so good I ate 3. My husband and I really enjoyed this restaurant. The atmosphere is very relaxed and casual but the food and drinks are good. There isn’t that much seating and the entire time we were eating almost every table was full. The salsa bar was a good experience and when they say spicy they actually mean it with the salsa options.“

“I must say that this place surprised me (in a good way). It didn't look like it was anything to write home about but the service was great. During these cold days the bartender offered me one of their special drinks and it was so nice to drink a warm whisky cocktail.

Now, tacos. They are really really really good. I had carnitas and chorizo and would recommend both. No need to go all the way down to Bushwick imo.

“Saw this truck in social media and was excited to finally try it. I’ve never had a red taco or birrieria so this was going to be my baseline for the future. The tacos were good. I thought they’d be redder. I asked if they came with the sauce and the guy was rude about it saying it was on the menu that it didn’t. But clearly there’s a picture on the menu with a small cup of sauce. Maybe there was a paper explaining that once but it’s fallen off the truck. Otherwise a pretty good experience. “I ordered a burrito and an empanada, the burrito transported me back to my days in LA surviving off of burrito trucks . The empanada was up there with the best I've ever had. The crust was sturdy but proved fluffy, when bitten into. The filling was delicious, even if it wasn't copious (what do you expect in this economy). If I had had ordered a bottle of Jarritos, I would have known when I ordered it that it's not a twist off.“
