I always get my bread here, old fashioned great bread. Prosciutto and olive loaf excellent.Vegetarian options: Most bread is vegetarianParking: Not many spots to park everybody double parks in and out fast.
Classic Italian bakery. For those familiar with calandra's in NJ, this is the Brooklyn version although on a smaller scale. They have a nice selection but the panella is my go to and honestly it's probably some of the best in nyc. You'll also find speciality items like olive. prosciutto and pizza breads and focaccia. All delicious. I am also a fan of the Kaiser and dinner rolls. The pastries and other sweet items are nothing special but I always have room for one of the rainbow...read full review

I tried a chocolate eclair and a slice of brownie cheesecake here. Neither are my go to desserts but I throughly enjoyed both. Especially along with a cup of Yemeni tea down the street--yum!! There were a bunch of bakeries on this street but the display of fresh breads and cakes drew me in. Will definitely be revisiting to check out more desserts!
