So sad to learn that it's closing. I only got to visit it twice across two yrs because I'm not usually in this neighborhood, but it was no doubt to me that they had the best almond croissant in the city. Plus quality was consistent. Croissant pressed but still fresh, with loads of sliced almonds perfectly toasted (unlike those pale soggy five almond slices that many bakeries are trying to sell on a stale croissant for $8). Top notch baked goods. They used to carry more breads but they cut back. Hope it's not a bad sign. What they have is still great.

Customers have enjoyed the Lemon Meringue Tart, which has a strong flavor, and the delicious Blood Orange Twist, which they hope will remain on the menu. While some pastries may not meet expectations, the overall experience at Julien Boulangerie is worth it for those seeking a unique pastry experience to accompany their coffee.
