3 hand rolls for $12 is an awesome deal, especially in this neighborhood. rolls (spicy tuna, salmon avocado, and avocado cucumber) were fresh and delicious. also they played great music
The best hand rolls. Great carry out food. Entirely gluten free. The volcano and sunshine rolls are delicious but the tempura shrimp is a real treat, especially if you’re celiac.

Sushi Counter is a restaurant in New York that offers take out hand roll sushi. The restaurant has around 10 choices, all gluten free and celiac friendly, at a great price for being in NYC. A loyalty card gives discounts after 5/10 purchases. The restaurant is close to the train (Bergen 2/3) and Atlantic Avenue/Barclays. The people there are totally nice. It is not a place for dining in but rather to get the food and go to your next location. There is one chair inside. The hand rolls are thicker and shorter than the sushi rolls from a typical Japanese sushi restaurant maki roll, so great for portability. Flavor wise it is not anything out of the ordinary. It tastes great but it is not out there in terms of combinations. One roll is 5 dollars and 3 are $12, a somewhat affordable option in the area for a quick meal. Because of its proximity to Barclays, it could serve as a quick meal before heading to a concert. There are monthly specials, and constant options like the shrimp tempura, salmon avocado and the tuna mayo. The rolls (spicy tuna, salmon avocado, and avocado cucumber) are fresh and delicious. They played great music. The best hand rolls. Great carry out food. Entirely gluten free. The volcano and sunshine rolls are delicious but the tempura shrimp is a real treat, especially if you’re celiac. Great addition to the neighborhood! The rolls are fresh and the sushi rice is loved. They’re pretty thick and filling. One hand roll works as a snack or multiple for a meal. Cheap too! The seaweed is nicely chewy, the rice is moist and slightly vinegar-y, and the fillings are simple but flavorful. 3 for $12 is reasonable for the size and quality.
