Good food and a great place
One of the best chicken francaise I've ever had. Tortellini en brodo was so tasty and everyone is so friendly here. I love having this classic red sauce joint close to home.

Vinny's of Carroll Gardens is a traditional Brooklyn Italian restaurant. The portions are huge, so plan to share or bring home leftovers. They bring bread and butter to the table for free. The Shrimp Fra Diavolo with creamy rice & peas is highly recommended. The Sole Oregano and fillet of sole are fabulous with large portions. The lentil soup is tasty but has pasta in it. The broccoli was steamed a bit too mushy. The food is delicious, like a home cooked meal. The staff is amazing, and Vinny is welcoming. It is Brooklyn's Gem. Some feel the decor needs updating and feels like a cafeteria. Others note the service, food, and crowd have dropped off greatly, possibly due to a change in management or ownership.
