Based on customer reviews, RICKS FAMOUS STEAKHOUSE is a beloved, black-owned business that has returned. The restaurant is just like back in the day on Genesee St, and it tastes the same, with the same family and same recipe. It is not like steak subs from common places; it is old school, very hearty and juicy, from a lost culture. The legendary Rick’s steaksub comes with onions, mushrooms, cheese, black pepper, jalapeño or banana peppers, and extra sauce. Customers also enjoy the chicken hoagies, which are chopped fine and delicious with the right amount of sauce and onions. The steak hoagies are sauced up just right. While the food is tasty and enjoyable, some customers note the phone is never operational, making pre-orders difficult and causing a wait. Despite this, customers will be returning again soon, glad the restaurant is back home.
