“This place was great! I’m an NA beer drinking and my husband prefers tea & vodka. We came to this bar not knowing what to expect. We sat at the bar and we were greeted by both bartenders. I ordered an NA Italian beer and my husband asked them to make him something like a White Russian. The first bartender (we didn’t get his name) said he could make something even better, so he did. My husband really enjoyed it. It took some time for us to finish our 1st drinks because we were watching Aaron making the most beautiful drinks ever. There was so much passion into the drinks he was putting out. So we asked him if he could make us each a drink. I explained to him that I don’t drink alcohol, and he asked me a lot of questions, to see what types of drinks I like and flavors. He also asked if I had any dietary restrictions, which I answered, no. He then asked my husband the same types of questions. and then, he went to work. He was like a drink wizard! He served us two stunning looking drinks and words cannot even describe the way these drinks tasted! I don’t remember what was in my non-alcoholic cocktail, but I do know it had lemon and lime juice, and part of an egg white. It was phenomenal! Another great thing about him was that he told us the history of some of the liquors he was using in my husband’s drinks and the different flavors. He was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and a fantastic bartender! I work right around the corner, so my husband and I are looking forward to going back to see what Aaron can create for us next!

“Went there before a play for dinner at Shea's Buffalo. This place is on the Chippewa bar strip, so we were not expecting much. Walking inside, it looks like a typical party/cocktail bar, brick walls, long bar, and tables opposite the bar with plastic chairs and Formica tables, so you are sitting in the bar. At 5:30PM on restaurant week before a nearby playing of Hamilton, we were the only diner's there (and only 4 others at the bar). Now the good part.... one of the best meals I have had in a long time!!!!! Waitress/bartender was prompt, attentive and friendly. The special for restaurant week that we had was $35 for soup/salad (I had soup), Duck with asparagus, yams, sprouts and and pie for dessert. This meal was fabulous! Perfect portion and perfect flavor. The caramel/peanut butter pie was luscious! On top of all this, we were there during happy hour, so $3 a beer. I highly recommend trying this place to eat, just don't expect a cozy, intimate atmosphere. You won't be disappoints, and you won't be broke.“

“Came here because we heard it has "speakeasy" vibes. While the atmosphere is for sure unique amongst other Buffalo bars, I wouldn't really say it' like a speakeasy. The decoration seems more 1970s. The cocktails offered all seemed very intricate and had lots of ingredients and mixed alcohols. Many included vanilla. We got the Saturn and Pickaxe. The Saturn was very sour, and the Pickaxe was very bitter. The prices were quite high, but you are paying for the ambiance of your experience. The waitress was super attentive and cheerful, and you could also eat outside on the patio that is shared with No Fun.“

“Wonderful ambiance. Great drinks. A little loud because they have big screen TVs to show soccer games, but you can't blame them. Soccer is a global sport, and there are plenty of other places to placate non-sports fans.

I will gladly come back here again in the future.“

“I have to start by saying how amazing the Wayland Brewery and staff are! We hosted a retirement party for my husband in Wayland Hall and couldn't have picked a more perfect venue. It’s not often where your top three criteria (venue, staff & food) are exceeded and exceptional. The venue – I can only describe it as simplistic beauty. It’s gorgeous and designed so well that it can fit any theme. The staff - Wayland has a gem in Tara! She worked with me throughout the whole planning process, doing whatever she could to make sure our event was special. So, when that day came, she didn’t disappoint! Her attention to detail, and reassuring disposition, showed the confidence she had in her ability to put a nervous host at ease; through her experience of listening and executing. This was all I needed, I left her and her crew to do what they do best, and they did! Everything from the setup, décor and placement of special items was just right! I am still receiving feedback on this wonderful staff. Our guests were well taken care of, even with special requests I didn’t know about - done! They allowed me to enjoy the party and honor my husband without worry and I am so grateful for that! Shout out to: Tara for being any and everything to us! To Noah, Bella and Whitney, the best bartenders ever – YOU DID THAT – The smoked drinks were a hit and the vibe you helped create was awesome! To Jules and Caelie for their tireless efforts in serving us with nothing but JOY & SMILES – dedication at it’s best! To the head chef Jacob and both sous chefs Ani and Dave, thank you for keeping our palettes happy and craving more, the Food was DELISH! If anyone is thinking of booking an event with Wayland, don’t hesitate, just do it! Once you are given the "Wayland Experience" it will make you want to find a reason to book another event...just because! They went above and beyond to make this celebration memorable and special!
