There aren’t many places left in Buffalo that can take you over 40 years back in time, to when the Italian Festival was on Connecticut Street.
I had to be under 10 the last time i was here , and every single year—like clockwork—one day during the festival it would suddenly rain like crazy. Everyone would scatter, looking for cover. This place is a gem! Food cooked and served by a lady just like my Nonna. There are usually 3 selections on the menu. By the way there is no menu. Lol. Rosie asks what you want to drink tells you the specials of the day and you sit back and Mangia. Cash only! ATM available.
Been curious about this place for sometime and today presented the opportunity to try it. Came with a couple of work mates. Simple, clean tavern with food and several tables. Old school and homey. Limited daily menu, but something for anyone who loves traditional Italian-American dishes. I am always hesitant to order red sauced dishes out, because I was taught how to make a mean red sauce by an old school Nonna.
