We discovered this place about 4 years ago. We are only in this area in the summer months and I can tell you this is the absolutely best Italian food of anywhere we have travelled. It's not just the food that makes it 5star. It's an adorable intimate small restaurant with three generations of amazing women. They are so nice and make the experience amazing. A great place for authentic Italian fair. Family owned, our favorite place to bring out of towners. No liquor license, but you can bring your own bottle(s) of wine. If your tired of the franchise experience, make the trip here, you won't be disappointed. When we are in the mood for Italian food we come here.

The best reason to stop by the quaint, sleepy canal town Canastota, is to visit Casatinas Restaurant. Despite Covid and all the crazy regulations, it is still possible to get outstanding Italian food. Check out the take out menu, it may be limited in choices but huge on flavor. Christina and her culinary skills are still creating wonderful dishes.
