“This place is worth making a point to visit! We will be back! The beers we tried were very good - and they have something that would fit all palates. (Im an IPA girl, and hubby is a lager guy). They also have a full bar and their own specialty drink menu —I described my drink preferences to the bar tender- and he made THE best choice for me. The bartender also had a lot of info regarding the history of the place - you could tell he liked working there. (He’s probably the reason we would return— great service and very friendly). “Great first day at Spotted Octopus in Rochester! Loved the beer, food and especially the service. The new systems threw the team a few curveballs, but the staff kept their cool and made customer satisfaction the #1 focus. Opening on parade day proved to be the perfect pressure test and they definitely succeeded.“

“This place was great! I’m an NA beer drinking and my husband prefers tea & vodka. We came to this bar not knowing what to expect. We sat at the bar and we were greeted by both bartenders. I ordered an NA Italian beer and my husband asked them to make him something like a White Russian. The first bartender (we didn’t get his name) said he could make something even better, so he did. My husband really enjoyed it. It took some time for us to finish our 1st drinks because we were watching Aaron making the most beautiful drinks ever. There was so much passion into the drinks he was putting out. So we asked him if he could make us each a drink. I explained to him that I don’t drink alcohol, and he asked me a lot of questions, to see what types of drinks I like and flavors. He also asked if I had any dietary restrictions, which I answered, no. He then asked my husband the same types of questions. and then, he went to work. He was like a drink wizard! He served us two stunning looking drinks and words cannot even describe the way these drinks tasted! I don’t remember what was in my non-alcoholic cocktail, but I do know it had lemon and lime juice, and part of an egg white. It was phenomenal! Another great thing about him was that he told us the history of some of the liquors he was using in my husband’s drinks and the different flavors. He was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and a fantastic bartender! I work right around the corner, so my husband and I are looking forward to going back to see what Aaron can create for us next!

“Greg was our server. That was the name at the top of the bill. I forgot to confirm. Greg was the reason this earned 5 stars. We had a table of 15. Greg preplanned the bills and really worked to make sure we were taken care of. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen that level of customer service. We had some amazing food and some average food. Drinks were delicious. Extremely cool atmosphere.“

“I love this place! It can become a little crowded sometimes but I definitely think it’s worth it for the atmosphere. The staff are super friendly and it’s always very clean! I live in the area and it’s nice to not have to travel far for a good tap. The only thing I really think they need to improve is the parking lot. There are about four parking spaces and on a busy night there is no street parking.“

“My husband and I went in with my brother and sister in law for a double date. It was my first time there and didn’t know what to expect. It was very fun atmosphere and the drinks were good. I really enjoyed the customer service from the bartenders. They talked to us and explained some of the drinks that I never heard of. It was great to have a convo rather than being ignored. “First, I want to highlight how varied the tap list is. A few IPA, a few sours, 3 different cream ales, a wit, an Irish, a Mexican, a dark lager, a mead.. what a wonderful array of choices! We did a few flights and tried most of the options and they are all really well made and tasty. The bartenders were really friendly guys and the patio is amazing. Had a great time and really enjoyed getting away from the typical 12 IPAs we've been seeing on typical tap lists“

“It was a minute before our waiter came to our table. He apologized straight out which was admirable. Dylan was an amazing server and was very attentive to all our needs. We have been here many times and it has always been a great experience. We started with the Jalapeño mozzarella sticks. Then my wife and I both got chicken sandwiches. I had the Glen falls chicken sandwich which was excellent with a large portion. My wife got the Buffalo Chicken sandwich which she enjoyed. My son had the Main Street burger and my daughter had a kids grill cheese. We were very happy with the food and the excellent service provided by Dylan- he deserves employee of the month!

“I’m a flight attendant and I come to Buffalo every so often. Whenever I come into town I visit this place. Excellent customer service, love the atmosphere (even though it can get busy) and the coffee is excellent and fresh! I only come for coffee so I haven’t tried the food but the food and donuts look amazing.

“I alway enjoy whatever cocktail I get from Ballyhoo, and my last visit there was no different. One of the best bars in town in my opinion with very reasonably priced drinks and excellent customer service. Not a very large bar space, but definitely worth checking out. They do serve a limited food menu as well, but I have not tried any yet.“

“We went to visit during an art show, and the place is amazing. The murals are vibrant, and really take advantage of the space. It was surprisingly warm inside, even though it was 26 degrees out, and this was previously part of the food terminal, not a traditional commercial space.The tea was very nice and we'll have to stop back in and get more types to try.“

“It's a very chill atmosphere. It's cleaner than a dive bar, but eclectic with decorations. They have stage space but it's small and cozy and not usually too crowded. You can see the owner in and out of the kitchen. She was very nice to her staff.

Wheelchair accessibility: There are steps into the place, however call ahead and I'm sure they would make arrangements, so that you feel welcome. It's the vibe that I get from the people there.“
